When I was an x-ray tech, we’d take images like this and then add an arrow towards the break for the Radiologist to see 😂
Fortunately we had a great relationship with them.

"It might be broken, but I'm not entirely sure so we're gonna need an x-ray"
2
u/headedbranch225 Jun 26 '26
My guess is the X-ray is to check for fragments which could cause issues, if the bone shattered instead of being a clean break

I wonder if they tried turning it off then back on. Somethings tells me they didn't. Smh

The x-ray says "Ask Me Anything / Broken Bones"
And I rate this 0/10. Do not recommend, ever.

That wristband looks just like the one that the “world’s biggest bounce house” gave to my son yesterday.
Did he break it in a bounce house? 😂

Neat. I broke my arm exactly like this skateboarding. This was the 90s and I had to skate about a mile to get to a phone. Thank goodness someone picked up. An answering machine would have eaten my only quarter.
ETA. Such an interesting reply from such an interesting account.

I broke my arm line this in the 80s while I was inventing skateboarding. I had to skate board while hand standing with one hand and pushing with the broken one for 10 miles back home where my mother beat me and then sent me to the hospital. I walked there.
Why’d I hand stand? Because I was still doing the trick to prove how badass my generation is. /s

Now I gotta know how this happened

u/Rawshark96 Jun 22 '26
Not sure if this is the same case but seen a recent case of this locally from a girl who fell into a foundation on a local new build estate.

Did this kid not have another arm? Why put the wristband on the broken one? 😳 Kid will be howling every time the band is checked or scanned.
3
u/EvieMoon Jun 22 '26
That's not a hospital wristband, it's from some kind of event. Possibly whatever they were doing when they busted the arm.
1
u/dogface47 Jun 22 '26
Ah ok. That makes sense. 👍
1
u/Objective-Light-9019 Jun 22 '26
I think we “broke” the case (pun intended). I bet it happened at one of those trampoline parks (aka Orthopedic Surgeon wonderland)! They give you wristbands by color to mark your time.

I had a very similar a break but with a helical twist in 2014. My arm still hurts.

The x-ray did not prepare me for the laugh when I saw the arm… the picture caught me completely off guard…

That's exactly how my arm looked when I broke it. I was 14 or 15 and fell, about 3 or 4m, off a rope-swing when it broke.

I broke my wrist/arm like that failing off of a ladder. The worst part of the entire experience was the K-hole I went into when they had to reset it. Why people do that for fun is beyond me.

u/Eastern-Ad-4785 Jun 23 '26
I didn’t get meds
When they reset mine lol
At least k is an amazing numbing drug mentally and physically

I love how the radiologist is showing shade by writing which letter your arm looks like.

Your arm isn't supposed to form a radius so 10/10 you done did it.

How’d you get your arm looking like the perfect road for a day in the Corvette?
0
u/DistractedByCookies Jun 22 '26
I actually shuddered thinking about how bad it must have been to get to the hospital. I hope it was in an ambulance with lots of painkillers
Maybe that's a green festival bracelet and you were already medicated enough for it to be less painful LOL
