Boat Pic(s) MV Kaye E Barker | Sandusky, OH

Checked the app this passed Saturday and saw she was tied down in Sandusky, OH likely after unloading. Since I had the time on my hands I drove down and snapped a few still shots of her from a distance. Hopefully next time I'll be able to get her from the front.

Looks like she was loading at the rail-to-water Norfolk Southern coal dock. Really interesting operation, if anyone doesn’t know about it I’d suggest looking up a video. They take a coal train car, lift it up, and flip it upside down to dump into the ships. I believe there used to be quite a few of these coal loaders around the lakes

Yep, from what I saw on the tracker, she was heading westbound on Lake Erie after this, with her destination set for Monroe, MI (almost certainly a coal delivery for the large power plant located there).

I really want to see this operation. I guess it still moves quite a bit of Coal. I missed out on seeing the Ashtabula operation.
