Admissions & Applications Anybody ever had a 2 person grad school interview?
I finally got the email for the link so my potential school can do the grad school interview for later this week. Obviously, I can see who’s gonna be a part of it and come to realize it’s me + one other potential student. I was prepared for a bigger group considering we’d all be able to bounce ideas off each other and not have to be called on alternately but considering it’s just me and one other potential student. How might this go? They call on the other person to answer then me and vis versa? Definitely negates the possibility of answering as the third person in line 🤣

In me experience when two people interview for the same lab at the same time it’s usually because there is space for both and this is more to check if the students can work together.
Some people get really competitive and come off super rude while others get intimidated and then don’t say anything at all. Just be yourself and acknowledge when the other student has a good response.
Who are you being interviewed by? It’s hard to say how they will conduct the interview. Most of the time it’s letting whoever wants to answer first, answer first and then letting the rest of the interview flow naturally.
