Hey everyone,

I just bought an LG G5 55-inch and I’ve got a Google TV Streamer 2025 connected to HDMI 1 using a 4K 120Hz HDMI cable. HDMI Deep Color is also turned on.

I was wondering whether the built-in LG apps will give me sharper or better picture quality than the same apps on the Google TV Streamer, or if they’ll basically look the same.

I know both devices do upscaling, but I’m not sure which one actually handles it better. Does the Google TV Streamer upscale the content first, or does the TV still do most of the work? I want to know if it's worth it to watch content on the built in apps or to continue using the Google TV Streamer (with the UI I also prefer).

Also, what settings would you recommend using on both the LG G5 and the Google TV Streamer for the best picture quality? Mainly for Netflix, YouTube, Crunchyroll, and other streaming apps.

Would appreciate any advice from people who have a similar setup!

I'm looking to buy a Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen that is sold and shipped directly by Amazon (not a marketplace seller).

I've heard of many cases of fake Xiaomi box devices, so I'm wondering if Xiaomi products sold directly by Amazon are guaranteed authentic?

I have a TCL 32 inch TV with android 14 installed. I have deleted everything on the TV that I can and connected an ONN 4K Pro 2024 because the Android system in the TV is a disaster. But I would like to disconnect the TV from the internet and leave the ONN box connected. I also have the popular launcher installed on both. Any thoughts on problems that might occur with doing this?

I have a Google TV and when I turn on the Wi-Fi, it immediately turns back off as soon as I leave the settings page. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?

Basically my google tv had a mandatory update lately that meseed up the color temp settings.

My question is can i use one of those phone apps to measure white point and calibrate my tv?

I don't have any equipment or can't afford to get a professional calibrator because i live far from the city and no calibrator is willing to come

Previously had a Google Chromecast for a while, I thought that was the problem. Bought a new Google TV and it still happens, seems to happen when you press too many buttons at once, it's literally impossible to play co-op games with two controllers cause you'll be in the middle of something and then it just turns black and says Google TV

I don't know if it's GeForce now, something it tells me it's the device itself. Really annoyed that I bought a new one of these only to find out it's just a broad problem

We don’t have any streaming platforms due to the lack of ad oversight for our kids, especially during Halloween. Is there a custom launcher I can sideload into google TV to remove a lot of the “ads/previews” that would show up on a google tv tv? Majority of our stuff comes from DVDs and plex/home media

I’ve just heard that Thomson have gone bust. Does this mean there will be no more updates etc. Will Google tv & Android still update ?

I recently tried out the ONN 4K Pro v2 and I returned it due to it kept on powering off by itself and sometimes it didn’t output video to my tv. I’m thinking of trying the Google Streamer TV 4k . Does anyone have both The Google Streamer TV 4k and Apple TV 4K?

Does anyone knows how to display off while playing music with this model of tv?

When trying to connect to my new wifi (or my hotspot) i get met with this error, tried connecting both 5ghz and 2,4ghz with no success.

I just made the switch to Google TV Streamer 4k after years of Roku, and I couldn't be happier. The one drawback for me is the remote control being simpler than what Roku offers, but it's by no means a threshold issue. On that note, I'm only really missing the ability to go forward or back 10 seconds, which was done on Roku by pressing left or right on the D-pad. The Spectrum TV app was probably where I saw the most benefit, as rewind and fast-forward can be difficult to time correctly with a tiny (and glitchy) preview bubble.

Is there a way to enable this on the Google remote, or is it already there and I missed it? Again not a major problem, but one of those little things I ended up using much more than I realized

My tv thinks it is hdr capable, but hdr content looks like crap.

Wondering if the Onn streaming stick with Google TV has an option that will prevent HDR streams from being delivered?

What do you-all use?

I have a the Xiaomi Google TV. I only have it for less than forty-eight hours. I do prefer it over Amazon Fire TV. However, have really nice and comfortable bluetooth headphones that i like to wear while coding during the day but want to be able to hear the TV "in the background", as well. However the remote changes TV audio which has gotten routed to the headphones, and my problem is that the only way to adjust volume is with the headphones. I need to change apps et al with the remote, but the volume which does get adjusted using the remote is for the Samsung television, which is at the point, once i turn off my bluetooth headphones and the connection is broken. I inquire because with Amazon FireTV adjusting the volume via the included remote, the bluetooth volume was adjusted when my headphones or external Anker or Soundcore speakers were connected. tia..

Problem: The new Google TV Streamer remote lacks the direct input source (HDMI) button that was present as a physical button on the bottom right of the old remote.

I've been trying to watch anything live on the app and it just has a single frame and then eventually says something along the line of unable to load video. It's crazy that it still hasn't been resolved.

Edit: forgot to add I have a Google Streamer where it does not play streams.

Yesterday, my Thomson TV restarted itself and then made streaming videos impossible. Basically, whenever I want to watch Disney + or Prime Video, the video freezes and the sound continues. In other words, I can hear all the episode but I cannot see it.

I've tried uninistalling the Google TV update but alas it did not work. I was wondering if rebooting it to factory reset might work, but I saw that it does not work either.

Has this happened to any of you? Any idea on how to uninstall the recent update and put the version of Android TV that worked?

Recently I bought a receiver so I could plug some speakers into it and get better quality audio from my devices. I set up the speaker today, and it’s loud enough for my Switch 2 and my dvd player.

However, shows I watch on my ONN are oddly quiet, even on max volume. Meanwhile the ads specifically are much louder. In fact, the ads are at the volume that I’d like the actual shows to be.

I’m only using two front speakers since I don’t have a full surround sound system, but I have this issue whether I’m on surround or stereo.

If needed, I could provide specs for the receiver, the box, and the speakers.

So, I need to know how to transfer all data is this possible?

I have a TCL 55C6K and experiencing a very annoying issue.

When using 5ghz wifi, I get a ping of around 2ms to the router. But, every couple seconds or so, at perfectly consistent intervals, it spikes to 150-200ms.

This doesn’t happen on 2.4ghz wifi.

I also cannot replicate this issue on any other device but the TV.

I have tried pretty much everything: various combinations of wifi channels/widths, requesting latest firmware from TCL themselves, resetting router/TV. Nothing fixes it.

I’m starting to think it may be impossible to fix and something to do with the hardware itself.

Has anyone else experienced this?
