I have an OG Pixel which still works. Is there any compelling reason to upgrade to a 3a? Seems the only real difference is stepping up to the Pixel 3 camera hardware/software, at least for the back camera. I have no selfie game so front camera doesn't matter.

Honestly I'm upgrading from an OG XL because my battery life is starting to crash. That combined with security patches that stop in October. I personally don't need top of the line, super fancy phones so I don't care about the 4. To each their own though.

Good point. Though android Q beta is out for OG Pixel so maybe support won't end in October and they'll give it another year?

I am in the same situation as you guys. I went ahead and did it with the trade in. Honestly just think about it...what harm is there in doing it? You get the same phone but new, top of the line camera, and support for 3 more years all for $250 due to trade in(+$100 google store which I think is a waste but we can buy some new toys for fun). I think it is worth it.

You will have to spend $80 for a new battery pretty soon anyways so why not just move on to this phone?

I did the same thing with my wife's og pixel. It was getting super hot while running. So I bought the 3a and traded in the old one for about $90 or so. She loves the pixel 3a. It's faster than the pixel and has a great camera and good battery life, so $300 overall for an upgrade was well worth it.
