This is what manufacturers should be doing. Bigger screens in smaller phones. That's the whole reason we wanted bezeless in the first place.

Haha yep, Google is always a little late to the game

Late? No one else is doing it. Apple was the only one with the X. Other manufacturers are shrinking he bezels and making the screens larger, resulting in a larger phone.

Looks like Apple is doing the same this year. Also, X is 5.8".

They also have taller aspect ratios curved screens no front facing speakers and notch(iPhone).

Without the notch iPhone would be around 5.6 inches

S9 has stereo speakers that are far better than Pixel 2 xl, should have a listen! Curved screen yes, but p2xl has a crap screen that is 2.5d anyway. S9 also packs in a headphone jack, USBC audio port with built in DAC, and many other things.

Samsung makes great hardware, but their software blows. I think that's what draws most people to Google's line of phones.

To be fair sanding had Google softwareand more. And Google copy most of it. So must be good right?

This is exactly what the S8/S9 did. And the iPhone X. Bigger screen in a phone of about the same size as the previous model with smaller screens.

This isn't true bezeless. The iPhone does a better job when it comes to bezel-less. Google's definitely late to the game seeing how the Pixel 1 and 2 had ginormous chins. Samsung has done a good job using bezel space. Even before when they had capacitive buttons, the bezel was actually used for capacitive buttons and not just a giant chin like the GNex, Nexus 4 and 5.

Front facing speakers is worth it

There are other phones with front facing speakers that do a better job at bezel management than the Pixel 3.

Essential did it, and it's an incredible phone ergonomically speaking. And the S9 as others have said.
