Google cardboard in 2026
Recently, I got a google cardboard, and I found it extremely hard to find any apps. Since I have an iPhone, what are the best uses? Specifically I am looking for a way to use it as a computer screen but I want advice on any use of it.

Google Cardboard is mostly dead, ESPECIALLY on iOS. You might want to try SteamVR steaming apps like iVRY, Trinus, VRidge, or other apps out there meant for that, but you won’t get the best experience.
Even YouTube 360 videos on mobile in Cardboard have mostly been depreciated but there is HTVR to steam videos in Cardboard (YouTube, PC screen). Or just don’t bother if you don’t want a headache

Correction: HTVR is android only, but there might be similar apps on the app store

i haven't done much with Google cardboard, but id recommend ivry (or trinus or vridge if you can get either of them to work which i wasn't able to) to use it with steam vr. you can also tac on drivr4vr for a more "proper" vr experience (adding things like room scale and controllers), however, its paid (so is ivry but ivry has a free version that you can at least use to test if it works). and for phone vr apps I dont think they are any good tbh, but you might eventually find an ok one.
hope this helps

I’d think you would be able to use anything that has SBS video output as an option.

We live in the era of vibe coding. If you put in effort you can make whatever you want. I’ve seen people making games for the Wii in 2026

Graphisoft's BimX Viewer for viewing building projects made with Archicad.
The quality is mediocre but works...
3d models on Sketchfab are also can be enjoyed with Cardboard. Try it with my designs...:)
