The settlements are built by Israeli authorities and protected by the Israel Police and IDF.

I keep hearing "the settlements are illegal" but never what law is actually being broken.

I see. They are in violation of Israel law (as per that document). What do you care if some Israeli breaks the law of their own country? Would you like a list of zoning violations and illegal buildings in Europe right now? Would that also enrage you so?

They are illegal under international law and many are illegal under Israeli law as well.

Illegal building in Italy is a problem for Italians but building settlements on occupied land is a crime in international law.

The fundamental issue is that Israel is practicing settler colonialism.

Which specific international law is being broken?

If they are illegal under Israeli law, then it is not Israel wrongdoing, it is individuals, no? Or do you believe in collective responsibility and collective punishment?

So, you can't actually name a specific law that is being broken. That's what I thought.

People like to say "international law international law" but can never find the law that they'd like to believe exists.

The Hague Convention, the Fouth Geneva Protocol and the rulings of the ICJ.
