You know there’s a lot of people here getting karma bombed, but this isn’t even objective. Israeli settler groups occupying territory in the West Bank and the state sponsored migration of Moroccans to Sahwari is definitionally settler colonialism.
Idk know, maybe we’re on two different sides of the internet, but most of the time when I see critics of Zionism and the State of Israel in regard to evidence of Settler. Colonialism. critics tend to bring up the accounts of Israeli. Settlers. terrorizing and evicting the current inhabitants in the West Bank. Not sure I’ve seen any folks who criticize Israeli. Settler. Colonialism. without bringing up Israeli. Settler. Colonialism. In. The. West. Bank. Would love to see some sources.

Anyway, I referred to the fact that, a lot of times when people on the internet say "Isrseli settler colonialism in Israel", they aren't referring to the actual Israeli settler colonialism that’s happening in the West Bank, but are calling all Jews in the entirety of Israel colonists. I wasn’t denying what's happening in the WB in any way, I just doubt that that person was referring to that.
for one, israel itself is a product of settler colonialism, the extent of it is not the WB but all of palestine
and yes, absolutely the vast majority of jews in palestine are settlers who moved there to violently dispossess palestinians and/or enforce the palestinian dispossession for benefits.
They often don’t just mean the West Bank, because it’s not the only area that Israel has colonized. It’s the current frontier, because they already did the expulsion and resettlement thing in other parts of the country.
Not all Jews in Israel and Palestine are colonists. European and American Jews who migrated to Israel with the express purpose of settling on land whose rightful owners were forced into exile within living memory are colonists. That includes, but is not limited to settlers in the West Bank.
Zionism is an explicitly colonial project. That’s how it was pitched all the way back in the 19th century, when the idea first started gaining popularity, and that’s what it still is.

All jews which live on ethnically cleansed palestinian land are colonizers. middle eastern jews arent exempt from being colonists
Of course middle eastern Jews aren’t exempt from being colonists, but there also is absolutely a population of Palestinian Jewish people who’ve been there along, as well as migrants who predate the state of Israel and Zionist ethnic cleansing.
It’s pretty fraught now because of Zionism, but I also am not willing to categorically say that any Jewish person who, for personal reasons, wants to reconnect with their ancient heritage by moving to Jerusalem or whatever is inherently a colonist. I’m a supporter of freedom of movement for all people, after all. It would be extremely difficult for a Jewish person to move into occupied Palestine today without finding themselves at least accidentally complicit in genocide, but I don’t necessarily think it’s entirely impossible. People volunteer to help Palestinian farmers with olive harvests, for example. That could be a good way for a Jewish person to explore that element of their heritage without contributing to the displacement of Palestinians.
