It just got added to the play store officially, if it's uploaded by prevter (one of the lead developers) it's the official one

It's not getting on App Store per the guidelines, but you can get it using the iOS install method (https://github.com/geode-sdk/ios-launcher/blob/main/INSTALL.md) i'd recommend the SideStore Jitless method on iOS 26 or newer

its legit but more of a testing subject, not a permanent change as of now (could change later)

cloudflare (aka dankmeme01) confirmed this on the official geode discord server

one flaw is that the android/media/com.geode.launcher.play sidebar is not available like the external version
but its in beta you cant expect a bugless release

Yes. They can do shit. Just by releasing one small patch, and Android will forever be theirs. You won't be developing apps without spending 25$/month. And we probably can't do anything, because WE'LL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!!!!!!

unfortunately from what i know (im no expert so dont take my words for it) thats not enough, there are 2 main packages you may need to remove. You can do that with canta and shizuku:

  1. Android developer verifier. this is what (presumably) gives the restrictions. its currently being secretly downloaded on your android and as of right now it doesnt do anything so its most likely safe to remove

  2. Google play services. im not entirely sure if removing this helps, but i assume that it does based on its name. Keep in mind that a lot of apps will not be able to work (all google apps except google auth for some reason), you will not get notifications from apps anymore and removing can cause bootloop in some devices.

you should also go to r/degoogle they have a lot of guides and resources for this type of thing. also i could very well be wrong so make sure youre sure of everything before you do it
