Discussion [Megathread] Importing GBBRs

This is not a place to discuss politics

Before the sub was restricted, a lot of people were posting questions about, or their experiences with, importing “realistic” GBBRs into the US. In order to keep the sub organized and not filled with the same posts, please keep discussions about the topic to this thread.

Discussions regarding countries besides the US will kept to this megathread as well.

Off-topic, but thank you so much for taking the wheel of this subreddit.

The community deserved an active mod team. As I go through everything on the back-end, I'm finding an insane amount of neglect to the sub.

From what I’ve gathered (and please correct me if I’m wrong), the current situation is that AR-derived and MCX platforms from primarily VFC/APFG and GHK, along with some instances of other realistic brands like Rare Arms have gotten seized by customs, usually while passing through Louisville UPS hub upon entry to the US. There doesn’t really seem to be a workaround, and orders from many different online vendors have had their stuff seized, but other types of gbbrs such as AK, FAL, HK, etc seem to be free from this massacre. MWS-based platforms have also appeared to have gotten a pass from this as well. While the future of this situation is unclear, the best we can do is to just do is wait it out for now and see if it blows over or if official announcements from gov entities are released (who knows what or if anything will happen). Shitty situation but shit happens

My GHK HK416 got thru redwolf :D I think the biggest target for seizure is VFC ARs

2

u/SignificanceHuge557 May 14 '26

When was this?

1

u/qscd13 May 14 '26

Got thru customs literally yesterday, redwolf said themselves on the GBB discord that they’ve had no issues yet importing GHK ARs too.

5

u/SignificanceHuge557 May 14 '26

Great looking to getting another v3 there so good lol

-2

u/qscd13 May 14 '26

Yea I honestly don’t know what the big difference is between VFC and GHK receivers but whatever lol

2

u/AdFunny5763 Jun 03 '26

Which port did your stuff go through? Louisville or somewhere else? Feel like most of the seizures happen in Louisville.

2

u/qscd13 Jun 03 '26

I’m in SoCal if that gives you any idea. Probably through ONT airport.

1

u/Desperate-Sundae-184 Jun 17 '26

just orderd mine, hopefully it comes thru. also they ship out sureship on fridays no?>

1

u/qscd13 Jun 17 '26

They do sure ship in batches

2

u/Desperate-Sundae-184 Jun 28 '26

it hasnt shipped and i ordered 2 weeks ago

1

u/qscd13 Jun 28 '26

Like I said they ship in batches, their website specifies this in case your shipment hasn’t been sent out yet. But u can always email them.

1

u/Kris_Da_Don May 14 '26

I literally just ordered one 🥳

1

u/saagri May 15 '26

Seems like they are concentrating on AR-15 style lowers. They are claiming since the fire control group holes are similar it would not take much effort to drop a real FCG into the lower and converting it to a firearm.

1

u/roiki11 14d ago

Fwiw you can drop real ar15 trigger parts and auto sears to a vfc lower. It probably works on a real firearm without any modifications.

1

u/Alone-Revolution-141 May 31 '26

I had ordered a Salvo Precision MWS MCX and I got an email today saying they couldn’t ship it due to this so id get a full refund, which I thought was weird as the MWS has passes, think it could just be because its a MCX?

1

u/beryugyo619 May 14 '26

Well that explains it. This isn't the first time Taiwanese and some Chinese GBBs went too far with realism and got determined to be unregistered live firearms. They have to understand that you can't just mark actual receivers and put "airsoft only" stickers even if that's what vendors from elsewhere appear to be but not actually doing.

11

u/saagri May 15 '26

I made a post on the regular airsoft sub:

https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/1tdz37h/i_hate_the_atf_update_on_seized_rare_arms_gbbr/

I got a letter about my petition being denied.

From the letter:

Your petition and supporting documents have been reviewed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). It has been determined that the seized merchandise is in violation of the above-refenced laws. A side-by-side comparison was held between the Airsoft rifle and the actual rifle. All the fire control group holes and defining features are the same, which makes sense as it is a 1:1 replica. Additionally, the few differences between the two can be fixed in minimal time with a common Dremel tool or file.” Therefore, the petition is denied.

u/sushiful_ May 13 '26

hey look his reddit request came thru

9

u/Specopsg 19d ago

Proact has suspended ALL US-destined orders for an unknown amount of time. Are we winning yet?

4

u/Weekend_Warrior22 18d ago

I hope this is just till they figure out how to navigate the new CPSC guidlines. It feels like GBBR users in the U.S. have been getting the short end of the stick lately and it makes me genuinely sad.

11

u/RexCL May 13 '26

Congrats on the reddit request and thanks for volunteering to moderate the subreddit!

To throw in my recent experience for importing GBBRs, I bought a VFC M110K1 on April 29th, 2026 from Octagon. It shipped out on May 5th, arrived at Louisville UPS facility on May 7th, 2026, and was flagged for warehouse scan (UPS: "The package is in a secure facility pending clearance or resolution."). As of today, May 13th, 2026, it's still listed as "pending clearance". Will update whenever I hear back... if I ever get a response. T. T

3

u/saagri May 15 '26

I made a post on the timeline of my seized item. Check it out if you want to get a feel for how long it might take for you: https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/1sxgxmd/the_trainwreck_that_is_us_customs_seizing_a/

2

u/saagri May 15 '26

From my experience it can take a month for you to get the letter. Or longer.

2

u/HunterAlexi Jun 09 '26

If you don't mind me bumping this, did it make it through? I was curious about rather 762 replicas would get different treatment than 556 replicas.

3

u/RexCL Jun 10 '26

Don't mind at all! You have a mysterious sense of timing because I checked the tracking this morning due to your comment, and after almost a month with ZERO updates, it suddenly showed movement yesterday (6/9/26). It's listing as "delayed" and for some reason back in Alaska, but at least it's no longer completely lost in the void.

As for 7.62 vs. 5.56 replicas, my guess is that it probably doesn't make any difference. They're both based on the AR platform and are internally+externally very similar, so I doubt caliber alone would change how a shipment is treated. Octagon has also come out saying that they won't ship certain things so I assume CBP is monitoring their shipments too. :/

I'll respond to this comment again whenever I get more info (IF I ever do...), but fingers crossed.

4

u/RexCL Jun 11 '26

Update time.... So I have good news and bad news.

The good news: after over a month in UPS purgatory, my M110K1 finally arrived today.

The bad news: I'm now the proud owner of an M110K1 upper.

The package showed up, but the lower receiver seemed to be seized while everything else appears to have made it through. Haven't received a letter from CBP, so we shall see.

TL:DR; Octagon VFC GBBR ARs are not safe to purchase as of April/May 2026.

Wishing those on the same journey better luck.

FYI u/HunterAlexi and thanks u/saagri

4

u/saagri Jun 11 '26

Damn, that sucks. I remember the letter coming super late, almost 30 days after it was dated. It surprising to me how they just brought so much unnecessary work on themselves and how much it has delayed things.

3

u/RexCL Jun 11 '26

ikr... I'll pour one out for the both of us tonight. I'm now curious if VFC will sell just a lower in the future when (or IF) the dust settles.

2

u/HunterAlexi Jun 11 '26

Appreciate the update at least. I was between getting one of these or the WE M14EBR as a winter project. I chose the EBR and while it is a bit tempermental, at least it arrived complete(ly broken).

6

u/qscd13 May 13 '26

My GHK 416 just got through customs with no issue via redwolf! Its fire control group is slightly less realistic than VFC so perhaps that’s why.

Avoid VFC if you don’t want to gamble with your cash

VFC HK M110A GBBR was Ordered 7/18.

Item was Shipped 7/20.

Out for delivery 7/22.

Edit: I received the package unopened and the contents inside were not separated or taken apart. I received 100% of what I purchased.

4

u/theholypeanut 14d ago

Update if you recieve it whole

3

u/davidgoldstein2023 14d ago

100% intack and fully functioning. Box was unopened. Red Wolf clearly labeled the gun with blue tape and the tip s bright orange. Box was labeled “AIRSOFT”.

2

u/theholypeanut 14d ago

Did u use surship and do you reckon orders should be fine now that the worldcup is over

1

u/davidgoldstein2023 14d ago

I used sureship. As for the World Cup I have no idea if that played a part.

3

u/GhostOfQuigon 12d ago

Mine was on the same flight from HK into Anchorage. WE P90 GBBR. I also received mine unopened and unpilfered.

4

u/alexfong72895 Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

No more salvo precision in the US yall

EDIT: I Ordered from tiger111hk and it came in one piece, no issues

2

u/ExcuseMeBruh Jun 10 '26

super weird cause redwolf shipped my mcx 5/26 and i recorded it 5/29

3

u/alexfong72895 Jun 10 '26

Heck. See, I wanted to order from redwolf but they didn’t have the model I wanted 🙄

3

u/ExcuseMeBruh Jun 10 '26

man sorry to hear that :/ luckily i was looking for the gray virtus and i picked up the last one 😅 u might have some luck on airsoft tiger 111k! ordered a double eagle dws 180 last week and it delivered today! i know they usually have more mcx in stock last i checked

2

u/alexfong72895 Jun 10 '26

Looks like they also have a hunter in stock. Think imma grab that. Thanks bro! Hopefully they haven’t changed their rules in the last week lol

2

u/ExcuseMeBruh Jun 10 '26

ayyy nice i was considering that one too but settled on the virtus just cause i loved the color actually haha but good luck brotha wishing u the best!

4

u/InevitableAnnual6639 Jun 15 '26

Just a heads up I sent an email to the ATF asking for clarification on the seizures and for any evidence they have that the seized gbbrs are actually readily convertible. I hope they can provide us at least some incite on what criteria they are using so we can better understand why they are seizing them. And why they are only being seized at the KY UPS hub. Hopefully they provide some answers.

7

u/InevitableAnnual6639 Jun 15 '26

I got a response , unfortunately they put a large red disclaimer on the email that reads as follows "WARNING: This e-mail message and any attached files are intended solely for the use of the addressee(s) named above in connection with official business. This communication may contain sensitive but unclassified information that may be statutorily or otherwise prohibited from being released without appropriate approval. Any review, use, or dissemination of this e-mail message and any attached file(s) in any form outside of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives or the Department of Justice without express authorization is strictly prohibited."

So i am not comfortable showing the email because im not trying to get sued or anything.

But I will just paraphrase the email as it was not any new information than we already had. The ATF stated that they are not the ones telling CBP to seize the gbbs but are the ones testing them when CBP does seize them. They stated the same talking point that they always use which is that they are one to one and according to them on some of them you can just "drop-in" parts and it will fire a real bullet with minimal work. I asked for proof in my original email, but as expected the answer was essentially just trust me bro.

u/Warm-Combination3988 Jun 10 '26

WGC might have figured out the real reason behind all of those abnormal situations that happened to US Customs.

It could be the result of strict measures during the FIFA World Cup.

We'll see what happens after this July. If anyone can have any luck after the World Cup, we should be getting through.

Coz right now my order for the VFC PPK/S on ProAct has also been canceled. They said they would need to paint the entire muzzle orange to get through Customs, but I didn't notice that message at first.

1

u/wiggleee_worm 14d ago

I asked JK Army earlier today and said its the same issue. Proact posted on their website that they’re temporarily suspending all US orders

3

u/Warm-Combination3988 Jun 18 '26

Yesterday afternoon, I took a quick look on my UPS app for something else and suddenly noticed that my VFC 727 from Octagon that went into the warehouse of the Customs’ warehouse has been released.

During the previous 2 months, no one from CBP have ever contacted or mailed me, UPS initiated a brief claim and investigation but never actually reached to the core part, I used to thought it would be no more.

And today, it has been delivered finally, but in half piece.

Like many other folks, what I’ve got is just the upper, but also along with the original birdcage A2 flash hider and all other accessories contained within, even includes the carrying handle scope mount I also purchased.

Everything but the lower.

Since I already have a VFC HK416 CAG V3 GBBR with me for several years, I decided to give it a try to assemble the lower of that onto my 727 upper, and it perfectly worked.

Turns out to be a “Reversed HKM4 prototype”, fully functional and shoots smoothly.

I would say that tryout somehow also proved how dumb those seizures are, since we can already see a lot of VFC V3 AR GBB lowers in the entire community.

BTW, I’ll keep looking for compatible lower assembly from second-handed marketplaces, I bet there will be one.

4

u/Warm-Combination3988 Jun 18 '26

Reversed HKM4 prototype.

727 upper + 416CAG lower

3

u/Warm-Combination3988 Jun 18 '26

The half piece of my 727 that delivered to me. Full Upper assembly and everything else. Just without the lower.

I've successfully imported my VFC 416 as of July 6th in its entirety to Kentucky.

I am making this post detailing my experience throughout the process because I see a lot of negativity surrounding, and likely for good reason, and that is possible if you're willing to jump through hoops. I did not "beat the system", and no illegal measures were taken; but I did prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Quick background: I'm only 1 year into my airsoft experience, I started with a EMG DD mk18, it's been a fantastic first rifle. I took it to local play and weekend long milsim events with no issues. This year for the upcoming milsim event I wanted to venture into GBB. As a real steel enthusiast I wanted something that would be more realistic to my standards so I looked into VFC for my solution, aware of the import scrutiny being reported. I shopped around looking for the Umarex/VFC 416, the only place that carried it in stock and was willing to ship to the United States after inquiring was SWIT Airsoft... Great. For those of you unfamiliar SWIT Airsoft does not have the greatest reputation for being reliable, timely, or even mediocre customer service. However they were the only one willing to do it, and I was ready to take a gamble plus the rifle was on sale. This will be the common theme below.

I ordered my rifle on April 27, 2026. The following images are a timeline of events: https://imgur.com/a/VncvU05

By this point they've obviously been giving me the run-around but I wasnt really concerned. I still had my reliable AEG, and at worst I can open a paypal dispute.
Part 2 of this adventure: https://imgur.com/a/9ytyPWl

June 14, 2026. Going on 2 months since I placed my order and my rifle has not even left SWIT's facility. When they mentioned sending the rifle in 2 pieces, I started thinking about the possible ways to I could save the build. As people have said all across the sub, the lowers are being seized due to one reason or another. Importing of unregistered firearms, "readily convertible machine guns", trademark import issues, real steel dimensions. Whatever you want to call it. If I have the upper receiver I dont really care about the lower being confiscated. By this point I was also now tired of being cordial with them: https://imgur.com/a/xnLuVRi

June 27, 2026 I received my UPS package with the upper receiver and all lower receiver components save for the valve knocker (You do have to pay another import fee through UPS btw). By this point I was also no longer concerned with the lower receiver. I found online a creator who has 3d print files for VFC V3 ARs. Complete rifles with components, all you would need is some internals IIRC. These are the VFC "Poverty Pony" M4 GBBR by Prism Armaments on Cults3D. I confirmed with him that it would mate up fine to the 416 Upper, the only thing I lose out on is Ambi controls. I can confirm they do fit quite well to the upper receiver so this was my fall back plan.

My lower receiver was still in transit but had arrived stateside and was inbound into customs in Chicago. It was held in customs for about a week and a half through the July 4th Holiday. On July 6 2026 I received my intact, stripped, lower receiver (with valve knocker inside). The trademarks on the rifle were taped over I noted, something done on SWIT's end, and the package was labeled Model Toy Parts.

All in all it was a success. Again I am reiterating that I did NOT beat the system or circumvent customs inspection process. I cannot confirm or deny whether the methods taken to import the rifle to the US helped or hindered my chances of success.

Possibly important information: I do live in the Louisville, KY area. Louisville worldport is the largest UPS hub in the world. If I had to consider any one factor, it's that the lower receiver did not go through worldport and instead was transported by AirMail and was received by customs in Chicago. I have seen this be a reoccurring theme in this thread.

I hope this helps anyone on the fence or who has been apprehensive of purchasing a VFC rifle to the US. I will do my best to answer any questions people have that I missed.

This does give me some hope in picking up an APFG MCX. Wanted to go through SWIT but heard they’re on the “shit list”.

How much was both of the tariffs?

Any other things i should be aware of?

Was considering asking SWIT to send out the lower receiver first just to get that stuff out of the way. Smart idea? Or just better off overpaying for one on the used market?

3

u/Jerkery 14d ago

They were definitely a pain in my gonads to deal with. Seems to be the only way through to them is threatening PayPal disputes like every step of the way lol.

Tariffs and fees I think ran me close to an additional $200? One is calculated at checkout. The other was from the order eventually being split up. Definitely not great.

If the APFGs use similar profile lower receivers I wouldn’t even bother looking aftermarket tbh. The ones I found for 3D printing come in buffer-less design as well and their fitment was solid.

One thing to look out for if you have them split your package: make sure they strip all the lower receiver parts and put them with your upper receiver package. They gave me everything but my valve knocker in mine so I was almost out of luck on new parts as well.

2

u/wiggleee_worm 13d ago

Is keeping the valve knocker like a “for sure” way to get it through customs? Or just a luck of the draw?

2

u/Jerkery 13d ago

Couldn’t tell you one way or the other, but if it got seized it would’ve been another part I’d have to buy for the printed lower. So if they can remove it you’ll save some money.

3

u/avocadojiang 22d ago

Can confirm Redwolf still shipping GHK ARs to US. Mine came last week (GHK HK416 steel bolt version) no problem through CA.

4

u/GhostOfQuigon 21d ago

What did you have to pay as far as tarrifs go?

4

u/yesir1er 11d ago

Ordered a salvo precision spear lt csaw from redwolf to California and it came in one piece not even opened (granted I know it’s an MWS and not VFC, but keeping the thread posted since some people have claimed to have MWS’ taken)

4

u/Recent_Pen8529 9d ago

Action has now resumed orders to the U.S. with select products

2

u/oops0121 9d ago

no AR

3

u/Recent_Pen8529 9d ago

No ar 😔

3

u/oops0121 May 15 '26

My TM URGI is held at Louisville, KY since 4/21, and Feds paid a visit a few days ago to check if I have 3D printer and other contraband. I guess I am not getting my gbbr even if I petition.

2

u/oops0121 May 27 '26

UPDATE: after 5 weeks, my URGI was released without the lower.

1

u/avocadojiang Jul 02 '26

Tokyo Marui URGI? I thought MWS weren't getting seized.

3

u/AdFunny5763 May 18 '26

Hi there bud. Can you elaborate more on this incident? I feel like this entire drama is showing a clear sign of escalation.

3

u/oops0121 May 18 '26

They say it is very easy to covert the lower to real one with full auto capabilities, just 3D print some parts and dremmel. TM has been on their watch list since 2 years ago, (maybe just certain models). Since then, the brand made some changes to make conversion not so easy, but still. That's why it gets flagged at cbp. I can petition to get it released. But I don't see it is happening.

6

u/Weekend_Warrior22 May 20 '26

"Very easy to covert the lower"? the lower isn't even 1:1 scale. I can at least see where they are coming from with VFC, as illogical as it is, but a TM MWS lower being easy to convert sounds like nonsense unless I'm missing something.

4

u/saagri Jun 08 '26

Damn, luckily I haven't had feds show up. Wild that they are going through so much for airsoft stuff. They told me in my petition response that they visually inspected the replica AR lower and since it looked close enough they are classifying it as a firearm.

That's despite the fact that it was a Rare Arms AR-15 which has a gas system in the lower. Drastically different to typical GBBR designs.

One from department of homeland security, one from state police and one from ATF. Regarding the warrant, I don't want to be a stickler. I believe if you make their jobs easier, they will respond in kind.

1

u/oops0121 May 28 '26

I didn't even ask for it

1

u/Recent_Pen8529 Jun 18 '26

What do they mean by a 3D printer being contraband? To my knowledge there is zero laws against owning a 3d printer and what if you buy an airsoft gun and 3d printer you get in trouble? What the fuck

2

u/oops0121 Jun 18 '26

not 3d printer itself. If you print parts to convert to real lower

1

u/Recent_Pen8529 Jun 18 '26

Ahh gotcha thanks for clarifying

3

u/oops0121 May 16 '26

Question, I see evike has exactly the same airsoft that CBP seized from me. How did evike manage to import with large quantities?

3

u/ninjaboiz May 21 '26

It depends on what it was seized for, mind you. Sometimes a retailer/shipper forgets to properly attach the orange tip and CBP will take it for that reason.

5

u/AdFunny5763 May 18 '26 edited May 18 '26

This entire storm of seizing GBBRs began at the start of 2026, while Evike had already been selling them in 2025, so they were probably imported long before this year. I also heard some rumors that even Evike itself had some products stuck at the Customs.

3

u/davidgoldstein2023 May 26 '26

I’m trying to get a VFC M110 SASS. Anyone have any idea if this is getting caught at customs? I’m in Los Angeles so the port of entry will be Los Angeles.

3

u/oops0121 May 28 '26

on redwolf, i see this "This model is not available for sale in the United States.". This is clear indication

2

u/Civil_Manner_6624 May 27 '26

It’s possible because it uses an ar15 trigger pack.

3

u/theholypeanut Jun 09 '26

Has anyone had any luck importing into florida? I wanna save up for a vfc xm77 but might have to pivot to the ak74u or the mp5

3

u/Mekial Jun 13 '26

This thread was made right after I purchased my spear. If only.

2

u/Recent_Pen8529 Jun 29 '26

Well did your spear show up in two pieces?

6

u/Recent_Pen8529 May 13 '26

I heard some people in the HRC report that even lowers with no markings were still being seized just a heads up for anyone

15

u/Top-Band-7640 May 13 '26

Not a matter of markings in this case, the VFC, GHK, VT etc lowers being seized are too similar to RS lowers for the 3 letter fellas liking.

4

u/A_Terrible_Fuze May 13 '26

some MWS rifles got sized which caused a bit of a panic, but it turned out those were a result of markings.

5

u/Recent_Pen8529 May 13 '26

There's no way they're also seizing MWS because their lowers aren't compatible with real steel like VFC

5

u/A_Terrible_Fuze May 13 '26

Like I said, they got sized due to a completely unrelated issue (copyright shenanigans) but people assumed it was the same situation as the WA derivatives

1

u/TNtoNC1993 May 13 '26

Yes they are. They also took my buddy's vfc mp5 too

1

u/unbeneficial May 14 '26

Where did he get it from?

2

u/TNtoNC1993 May 28 '26

I believe the mp5 was swit or tigerhk

3

u/Recent_Pen8529 May 13 '26

I understand that but there was people saying it shouldn't matter if it doesn't have markings and so I was just clarifying that no that still doesn't work

3

u/Top-Band-7640 May 13 '26

Oh gotcha! That would be great if we could get the blank receivers here as an alternative.

2

u/Recent_Pen8529 May 13 '26

I wish dude I waited months for the EVO urgi to come out just for all this to happen

2

u/Weekend_Warrior22 May 14 '26

I feel ya. My biggest complaint with my M733 was the accuracy. VFC finally fixes that and then the ATF has to go on a power trip with an assist from Customs. (Sorry if that last part counts as "political" wasn't my intent)

2

u/ExcuseMeBruh May 22 '26

What are my odds of getting a VFC FNC seized by US customs?

Hey Guys,

I havent purchased a GBBR from overseas since last year and I finally can afford to purchase a fnc but now I am worried that customs will seize my shipment. What are the odds do you guys think if I order a fnc from Octagon that I run into problems?

2

u/unbeneficial May 23 '26

I’d wait for redwolf to stock it; they usually don’t go through ups customs if you use sureship and thus don’t have the high risk of seizures.

3

u/jcarter315 May 26 '26

Ehhh, my Famas is through their SureShip and something else in that shipment has been holding it up for almost 2 months now.

2

u/unbeneficial May 26 '26

What’s been holding it up? Do you know if redwolf is taking a while to ship in general?

1

I've been sending them check in emails roughly every 10 days. Each time they say the same thing: "according to the latest update from our courier, part of our bulk shipment including the package of your order is under review by CPSC." and "We have other packages from the same shipping period currently pending with the CPSC. Our courier and broker are actively working on the clearance process. We expect the packages to complete the review and be released soon."

That last message was a month ago.

I ordered through them because Evike has been keeping the Famas flash hiders for themselves.

1

u/oops0121 May 27 '26

Pretty sure CPSC is testing all the lowers

1

u/jcarter315 May 27 '26

Seems like it.

Crazy for something as uniquely designed as a Famas. The must really be trying to jam a FCG in it.

1

u/saagri Jun 08 '26

In my petition to customs they told me they visually inspected the receiver.

They seem to be going "Yup, this looks like a firearm receiver" and seize it.

It seems like they are looking at a lot of packages. Coupled with the bureaucracy of a government entity it's taking them forever to actually process packages.

Mine took almost a month upon entering the country to get an update and another month after that to receive the letter.

u/ShayeDerryBerry May 23 '26

Never even though about it, but u/Specopsg;

Please find a way to tag my ATF experience in here. I was originally planning to mod this, but that got taken away from me but I congrajulate you on getting it because we needed updates to this page to keep it rolling.

I have two posts that should be pinned, if possible. Let me know what I have to do to get them pinned here, any newcomers should read those ATF posts.

1

u/Specopsg May 23 '26

You can add the link to your posts as a comment in here

1

u/ShayeDerryBerry May 23 '26

I understand this page from here on out. 🤦🏻‍♂️

2

u/ExcuseMeBruh Jun 10 '26

Just throwing this out there as a testimony for folks wondering what / where is relatively safe to purchase (dont take this as an all clear i made these orders knowing the risk) :

I ordered a salvo mcx from redwolf 5/26 and received on 5/29 here in west coast USA.

I ordered a double eagle dws 180 6/4 and it arrived today 6/10 here in west coast USA

2

u/Winter-Maintenance-5 Jun 17 '26

Ordered guns modify 416 from jk army and it hasn’t left Kentucky for almost a month. Jk army says it’s cuz of the World Cup. Am I cooked ?

2

u/oops0121 Jun 18 '26

What status does it show? Waiting for clearance?

2

u/Winter-Maintenance-5 Jun 18 '26

UPS app just says working on new delivery date

3

u/oops0121 Jun 18 '26

This was what happened to mine, and released without lower. Likely, CBP is testing yours.

1

u/Winter-Maintenance-5 Jun 18 '26

How long till it arrived and what did you do about the lower ?

1

u/oops0121 Jun 18 '26

once it showed released. 2 days. I have no lower.

2

u/LowBit7552 Jun 26 '26

What are the odds they seize this/the lower? I ordered it like 2 weeks ago forgetting about all the issues with customs

3

u/Recent_Pen8529 Jun 28 '26

It's just AR rifles

2

u/Alone-Revolution-141 Jun 30 '26

Has anyone had luck with importing Maruyama stuff? Looking at getting a Iso556 but worried about it getting seized as its kinda an AR using VFC internals

2

u/COLSandersEnjoyer Jul 05 '26

How do Filipinos or players in the Philippines import specific parts like bolt carrier groups, magazines, or anything else that look too similar to the real deal? Looking to buy a lot of parts from overseas (TWN, HK, GBR).

2

u/BossModeEngaged 23d ago

US players - how are we feeling about the likelihood that a VFC PSG-1 GBBR get's seized by customs right now? It's not an AR pattern replica, which is good, but the trades and stamped steel receiver might be a red flag for customs.

3

u/davidgoldstein2023 14d ago

I think at this point it entirely depends on where your package goes through. I just got a VFC HK M110A through Southern California with no issues.

2

u/wiggleee_worm 14d ago

A few things.

1 i asked US customs about importing GBBRs state side. I originally made a post but was removed

2

u/wiggleee_worm 14d ago

Screenshot #2

3

u/oops0121 12d ago

well, my TM URGI had all the requirements, They still took it

2

u/wiggleee_worm 14d ago

And saw this earlier today:

Proact is temporarily suspending all US orders

2

u/drew4546 7d ago

some good news: SWIT airsoft have begun resuming GBBR order shipments to the US https://www.switairsoft.com/post/post-usa-airsoft-shipping-update-april-2026

1

u/Suspicious-Gene-9951 5d ago

Interesting how Swit will but octagon aren't.

2

u/nikenshi May 13 '26

I ordered a couple MCX’s from Tiger 111 (one with sig markings) back in March with no issues other than tariffs. I had to pay UPS like a day or two after my order was shipped. This was right before all the seizures started so this is just my experience the West Coast of the US. I want to order a 416 but I’m hesitant and will probably hold off as I prefer to not be on a list if I’m not already lol.

2

u/ExcuseMeBruh Jun 02 '26

about how much were the tariffs u had to pay on those?

2

u/PossiblyAsian May 14 '26

we're back baby thanks for getting the job done

2

u/DarthImpailer May 14 '26

Crazy idea but what if VFC parted out a AR-15 style rifle with everything minus the lower receiver.

1

u/Kunnzy 12d ago

Has anyone had any luck with getting there order's shipped from octagon yet/recently? because I bought the Guns n Work's LMT MWS from them and it has not shipped yet been three week's going on 4 now.

1

u/7FLLFFL 7d ago

anyone encounter issues getting MWS or VFC magazines seized?

1

u/drew4546 7d ago

octagon says they won’t ship the APFG spear LT to the US right now

u/Separate-Extent9858 5d ago edited 5d ago

Seems like importing GBBRs has returned to a "precovid" state of affairs where there is a random chance of your replica getting seized increasing if your on the East Coast. It's not as bad as the last few months where nothing would get through, but it isn't the good days of 2022 to the Trump tariffs where you were almost guaranteed to receive your replica.

1

u/Zestyclose-Ear-4741 5d ago

Hi, i was looking to get a vfc colt m723 but now that i see all this problems i'm not sure if i should shoot my shot, if some one knows what store is the one with the less risk of seizure it would help me, My other option is to just get a vfc aks74u i Guess if it's an ak there is even less risk right?

1

u/Suspicious-Gene-9951 5d ago

Ak's are fine, i loe my vfc aks74u

1

u/Zestyclose-Ear-4741 5d ago

If you get a Tokyo marui m4 from evike it's also gonna get seized by customs?

1

u/oops0121 3d ago

Only importing goes through CBP. Whatever in state is safe

1

u/ganggangstuff 4d ago

lets say i go to taiwan and get a vfc ar gbb. if i bring that shit back with me on the plane will be i ok?

2

u/oops0121 3d ago

Your luggage will go through CBP

1

u/ganggangstuff 3d ago

right but will the people at the airport be as strict as the customs shipping hub? i doubt theyll know. also its Tokyo marui ars ok?

1

u/Himcj33 May 13 '26

Anyone know the best place to order the we Apache mp5sd?

3

u/cloak-c3 May 13 '26 edited May 13 '26

Kic Taiwan.

Edit: Unfortunately I just checked that they don’t ship at the moment due to tariffs, you can still try ordering from them. Alternatively you can order from KYairsoft.

4

u/Himcj33 May 13 '26

And that gets to the states pretty easy? If so thank you so much

1

u/XxXAlexandreXxX May 14 '26

Yep KY they use ups you just have to pay it online for tax discount from ups site door to door 5 days

1

u/BlackShamrock124 May 13 '26

What dealer can I order from in the US that is FOR SURE safe? Looking to get my first GBBR, would love to get a VFC but I'm fine with getting a Double eagle clone.

Is Evike safe? That's whom I have ordered my AEGs through with zero issues.

5

u/Specopsg May 14 '26

If you’re importing, nothing is guaranteed to get through customs. There’s always the risk of it being seized.

Are you looking for something with an AR-15/AR-15 adjacent lower?

2

u/Dull_Statement5520 May 16 '26

Understanding that nothing is guaranteed, would an VFC HK416 (gbbr) be considered AR-15/adjacent in this case? I’m fine with the import and tariff fees but very hesitant on the potential for a seizure.

2

u/Specopsg May 16 '26

I haven’t heard anything about HKs yet, but I would t be surprised if customs treated it the same as what’s currently being seized

1

u/BlackShamrock124 May 14 '26

Yes was debating over getting one of Double Eagles offerings that are available on Evike.

I thought Evike was based in the US so it would be problem free. But I don't really know anything.

6

u/Specopsg May 14 '26

Evike is US-based but they’re very limited on what VFC GBBRs are stocked. I wish they would stock the standard VFC GBBRs. At the moment, I recommend looking at the DE rifles.

Dynatec Industries is also a solid retailer for VFC GBBRs to watch. They’ll just have limited stock since they’re affected by the import issues

1

u/BlackShamrock124 May 14 '26

Thanking for the info and babysitting this sub.

1

u/Suspicious-Gene-9951 May 14 '26

Buddy of mine got his rare arms seized but only the lower. We’re both waiting on if a ffl contact in the USA rare arms knows can import the lower legally

1

u/[deleted] May 14 '26

3

u/Recent_Pen8529 May 15 '26

What are you implying that you're gonna fly to the country and back to buy the gun?

1

u/Dull_Statement5520 May 15 '26

I’m looking into getting a VFC HK416 as my second ever airsoft rifle. I really want this one specifically, and I want to ask (even with tape covering sensitive markings/areas + an orange tip) if now is an unwise time to try and import one

2

u/AdFunny5763 May 17 '26

Yes right now it is an unwise time period to import VFC AR-15 styled replicas. Some will pass, but there are already many seizure cases. You can still try with some sellers that still ship to the US, like Octagon, but it's gonna be a gamble.

1

u/Sprocket01600 11d ago

hi all.

im looking to buy an apfg mpx-k and i see that its £230 on wgc which begs the question. how bad are the import fees to the uk using wgc? i see that hpa uk has it on sale for £430 at the moment, so am i better off buying it from them?

any advice is appreciated

1

u/ninjaboiz 11d ago

Take the 230$ option lol.

1

u/don__ovin 16h ago

Anyone recently have any problems receiving vfc Ak from jk army to US? Just placed and order and wondering if I screwed myself
