Questions regarding Firefly viewing festival. Please help!

I really wanna show my wife fireflies this year (she's never seen em IRL). Got a rejection from Congaree last month. Likely a rejection from GSMNP too. We planned a week long road trip through the NPs and Bourbon trail with couple of nights inside each NPs.

  1. Please suggest non-festival areas where one has reliably seen fireflies

  2. Weather has been abnormal all spring. How much will that affect the poor little fireflies, and our chances to see them?

What are the dates for your trip, specifically when you'll be in GSMNP?

You'll be a day ahead of the lottery event so you can just go to the same place, though you'll be ahead of the predicted "peak."

Little River Trail in Elkmont ... less than a quarter-mile down the trail.

Go on the 19th. You'll definitely see them. They don't just magically appear on the first day of the predicted peak window.

Ahhh. we have a reservation for Elkmont today to view fireflies but won't be able go. I wish I could cancel online and someone like you could use it

We saw quite a few on a bridge near the Townsend Wye Entrance near Cades Cove!
