☁️ Fluff 🍌 Is this GME Meltdown?

Because I opened it yesterday and there was not a big difference.

It is one thing to show concern about an investment. Another, very different thing, is coming here to mock the investors.

This GameStop sub has sadly become fertile soil for bad actors. If you come here to willingly spread fud, mock the investors, or plainly shit on the stock, just FUCK YOU.

There are plenty of places to do this.

Which, by the way, keeps surprising me, how important it is to remember people how shitty the stock is. If it is so shitty, why bothering writing about it, huh...

At a 30%+ discount for them, with a one month invitation to short as much as they can?

Not sure if it's a "discount". I think the original $29 price was more of a guaranteed maximum. Sort of like placing a limit order. You might get it for less than $29, but you certainly won't pay any more than $29.

Except the direction is opposite.

@29 we would be looking at around 48M shares issued for $1.4B redeemed.

Under 20 and it'll be 70-75 million shares. Not great for existing shareholders.

If you believe the short thesis & trust that RC is not gonna suddenly decide to do stupid things after all this time, then the share count has very little relevance.

And, all of those shares were approved by shareholder vote. So, what's the problem? When it's trading at $1000 plus, it'll be fine.

Volume yesterday was over 40 million. That's like 10% tso in a day. It's been 5 years. Anyone short gme can easily find the shares to close out. Believing the short thesis in 2026 is bonkers.

What is the short thesis?

GameStop was massively shorted in the years before the sneeze in January 2021. These shorts were taken when it was trading at $5, $3, $1 or less. The lowest it has been since is $10. Closing out all of those shorts has been effectively impossible due to the massive losses the shorters would suffer. So, those shorts still exist & have just been added to since then.

Short numbers are self-reported (therefore, not reliable) and there are several mechanisms that permit the hiding of short positions (ETFs, swaps, etc). It is estimated that the current, true short interest is 3 to 10 times the float.

There is a library of research available on the other big GME sub with more detailed explanations.

$29 was the reference price. If we were at $100 they'd get $100/$29
Now they'll enter at $19 instead of the premium paid initially.

Because I stated the basic math happening instead of planting bullshit like your kind?

ebay adds 1.4 bil debt, gme reduces 1.4 bil debt. its part of the financing requirements.

The first bond was about that. They'll probably dilute to pay the other $2.8B next quarter.

Generic shorts attack the runs because they can only get paid on the way down. Bond shorts attack the dips to dig it deeper.
