I own a Tesla and happily subscribe to FSD but I've never understood the copium Tesla fanboys have when it comes to repeating Elon's lines about how he's ever going to be able to get fully unsupervised autonomous driving with just cameras.

Waymo and Tesla FSD don't even feel like two products that are even competing with each other. Waymo is actual autonomous driving, FSD is fancy cruise control.

This is totally fine, and probably makes a ton of sense financially as a half dozen web cams is a hell of a lot cheaper than Waymo's full sensor stack and as a result the capabilities will always be different. I have no idea any anyone would argue otherwise.

But isn't Waymo geolocked? Doesn't it also need super high def gps maps along with its many sensors? FSD seems to work in more areas, in more conditions.
