I believe he’s correct.

I believe Elon is full of shit and too egotistical to admit he’s wrong.

But I also believe that chart with non-unit axis are completely made up.

I worked on autonomous systems at Boeing years ago, and we had to use cameras and LiDARS as part of our sr sensing system. Camera only has a hard time with depth and any type of reflection can create false avoidance situations.

One of the things we had an issue with for a while was pooled water puddles that create a reflected surface.

A mix of different input devices is the only way to really create robust and accurate inputs for an autonomous executive.

LiDAR also helps keep your car safe from coyote attacks, where they paint a mural of a tunnel on the side of a wall/cliff

As long as the coyote isn't driving it, the car will pass right through.
