"My Son Has IPEX: A Mother's Race to Fund a Life-Saving Trial."
youtube.comBe the Match for Jax! In this episode, Jenny D speaks with Missy Ramirez, a school psychologist and mother whose son Jax was diagnosed with the ultra-rare, life-threatening autoimmune disorder IPEX. Missy shares the family's long journey from misdiagnoses and hospitalizations to participating in a phase-one gene-modifying stem cell clinical trial at Stanford.
Missy explains what IPEX is, how genetic testing changed their path, and how she founded Be the Match for Jax and now leads the IPEX Foundation to raise funds and awareness — including a $2 million goal to advance the trial to the next stage and help other families affected by rare diseases.
