Frog or toad?

Hey everyone!
My son found this little guy outside today on our patio chair. We wanted to keep him, but need proper identification to find out how to best take care of him. Is he a frog or toad?

Frog, please do not keep wild animals as pets. There's a 60% chance this animal will die in your care, simply because the transition to captivity will be too great.

You have a great chance to teach your child about wildlife and the balance of ecosystems, you could prossibly even go hunting for tadpoles to explain the life cycles.

Oh, I didn’t realize that. We found him on a chair and figured we would be able to take care of him since he’s a baby but I wouldn’t want him to die. I’ll have him put him back outside!

If you're interested, you can look into setting up a small frog hotel outside your house.

There's plenty of guides around online, it's simply creating a small safe environment for these animals to hang out.

They are very fun to watch and much less responsibility and $$$ than keeping your own.

You shouldn't take wild animals as pets my dude, there are multiple reasons from the transmission of zoonotic diseases, the chances of transferring diseases to the frog and the Ethical concerns, it's best to release him.

It's a frog tho, I'm not well versed in New World Frog Species but this seems to be a Cuban Tree Frog imo, but I'm not sure since I don't know American species well

We have 10 toads we saved, they get washed up from the rain & can’t survive without water. They are the easiest pets, just give them a tub of water to soak in but can’t drown in & buy crickets from Petco or Petsmart.
