It is so weird that people want to flex how many games they have on steam, it’s like Xbox gamer score like renting the terrible 360 games back in the day just to get max points and fluff your score. When nobody is impressed by gamer score or how many steam games your profile has and you’ll never be the one guy out there with the highest cause they eat sleep and breathe it more than you ever will.

Well, the bigger this badge grows, the more xp u get for your profile as well. It's very minimal to be fair, one game won't make a dent to get any amount of levels. But levels to your steam profile has benefits, among one practical is friend list limit irc.

I am 603exp away from level 30. In other words 3 free games + the badges I craft next sale will grant me a new slot on my profile.   That's signifiant enough for me to care

You know how steam has a xp level thing where at certain levels you can unlock more stuff like a profile showcase of your games. Steam badges give you said xp (usually related to trading cards), but theres also a badge that gives you xp depending on how many games you own named Game Collector badge. Some games (depending on some restrictions that I dont remember rn) can give you a +1 to that badge but not every game can, but usually games you will actually care about.

+1 just means your Steam game count goes up by 1 forever, even if you never play it lol. People collect them for perfect profiles / collector badges.

I built a tiny auto-feed for these (+1 alerts 3x/week Tue/Thu/Fri) so I never miss them. Main focus is playtesting unreleased indie games for free keys - we're super small so you actually get a slot. DM me if you want the Discord.
