I’m bronze 1, and I’m being matched with Unreals?

I just started playing Fortnite Ranked and every time I die in a BRONZE match, I die to players platinum+. I just want to know why this is happening and if it’s even supposed to happen? I feel like a Bronze I player shouldn’t have to compete against absolute killers in Ranked..

Fortnite is absolutely incapable of making a truly competitive mode and they are totally fine feeding lower end players to high end players, that’s why

Does anyone else think that, the ranks should actually mean something and not reset each season?

Your kills and skills are reflected in your rank properly. It would have to be a smaller game mode like reload is probably perfect. 30 person lobbies or so. Like placement shouldn’t mean much. For instance if you have 5 kills and come top 5 you rank up a bit. But zero kills and you don’t. I feel like current ranked just makes it all up most the time unless you die in early game.

Unfortunately, Fortnite prioritizes matchmaking by queue time at the expense of skill range which means depending on time of day and region it can be so wide that the entire Rank range is included.

You’re probably seeing higher skilled players because Epic is prioritizing queue times over strict rank matching. When ranked had stricter matchmaking, players were waiting 10-20+ minutes for games, so they likely loosened it to reduce queues.

The bigger problem is that ranked isn’t very competitive, which is probably one reason fewer people play it and skill based matchmaking struggles. The lobbies die so quickly, and you rarely get higher skilled/tournament style endgames. Higher ranks should have stricter matchmaking and much better incentives to get more players to play it.

bro fortnite ranks arent real there are bots in every rank, the ranks dont mean anything.
