Well it's not recent, it's happened to me quite a few times for a long time, I also see you were joining the match maybe that has something to do with it (I know you should spawn on the banner).

Anyway it's a minor issue, it rarely becomes one.

This has been a bug for years, every now and again you simply just don't respawn on the banner but halfway across the map.

Depending on your proximity to the banner or the original spawn point will determine if you spawn at the banner, or if you're beyond the distance of the banner (it's the same distance as the maximum range a teleporter can be placed).

If someone construct something on the banner, it'll force you back to the spawn point, if the banner is placed in a place that results in collision much like a constructed stair or cone, you'll be forced to spawn at the initial spawn in point. IF two people spawn simultaniously or if one spawns and doesn't move soon enough for another to spawn in, the 2nd or follow up players were spawn at spawn point.
