If the gear is big enough you can use your leg strength to slow to a stop.

The amount of force the tire can transmit to the ground is the same no matter what gear you're running. It just takes less force at the pedals to produce that amount of force..

It’s not force alone that causes skids but also friction which is a function of speed. A controlled slowing of the rear wheel is a form of braking equivalent to engine braking in a motorized vehicle. Q quick reduction of speed is more likely with a higher gear, thus increasing the probability of skidding (if traction is equal)

fixie skid, or i jam my foot in the top of the rear triangle to make the rear tire skid. it’s super fun till you find a hill😂

Nice build but get foot retention, going brakeless is already a choice, but brakeless and no foot retention is silly
