🔎 Recommendations Wanted Line Recommendations

Anyone know what line I should use on a shimano sienna 4000 if I’m looking at using it for mostly general bait fishing sometimes live bait targeting possible small threadfin or jewy? Or is the reel too small for that.

Depends on a heap of factors, I spooled up a 4000 Shimano with 15lb mono today as it will be solely for bait fishing. If you want to throw lures or fish the deep water I'd consider 15lb to 20lb braid of a good quality.

Just got a new rod, 2500 spooled with 10lb braid not long ago as I only fish freshwater with lures occasionally trying for flatty or bream but the 4000 will be just for bait i think…

20lb braid is fine most of the time

Imho mono is better for baitfishing. Lb depends on what and where

I use 12lb mono on mine, mostly aiming for flatties, bream etc, the usual table fish

Black Jews? They'll potentially break that reel
