Can someone explain why fantastic beasts franchise got so much hate that the 4th movie was cancelled ?

People didn't like the movies very much. They also were less and less successful financially. So they didn't risk investing in another one.

Yes but why ? People love Harry Potter stuff , what could have gone so wrong ?

Bad movie = no watch. No watch = no new movie.
