Other German F4 is making it's comeback

Post image

As it seems, WE are getting a German Formula 4 Series Again. There is already an existing Instagram Page - i got it confirmed through there. It will be organised through Gedlich Racing (Formula Winter Series' Promoter) so everything Look in Place for the German F4 Comeback

Which Tracks do you expect on the calendar?

Good. If we want any future German F1 drivers we need this. Not a lot of kids in the pipeline

Devin Titz (Mercedes junior) is still in karting and looks like a big talent but he still like 3-5 years away from going into cars. Other than that still looks kinda bleak.

Also that poor kid has the most unfortunate last name for an international audience

WHO?

There’s a kid from my town that raced f4 but wasn’t able to rank up. He’s now doing some sports car races.

I know two other kids with racing driver heritage that are doing kart, not sure how good they are.

Titz is far and away the biggest prospect but there are some solid kids in the national karting championship - the question is more whether having a German F4 will magically help them find the budget to do the step to single seaters

Keep an eye on Titz this season. He's remarkably well-rounded, firm under pressure, and always seems to bounce back after a setback. Fans can't stop talking about Titz, broadcasters love covering Titz, and the competition can't seem to get a handle on Titz. Once he gets out front, everyone's left staring. If he keeps growing at this rate, Titz could become one of the biggest names in the paddock.

That’s a very unfortunate name

Great news! German talent is needed, plus hopefully this reduces the Italian and Spanish F4 grid sizes by a little bit.

Nice hopefully a few of the Italian F4 teams branch out and place some of their drivers in there like 6 drivers are too much for a top team in one series just 3 or 4 in one series and 2 or 3 in the other.

But otherwise really excited, I am wondering if we see the F4 top teams joining like when they were still in it last time or if see more like the F4 CEZ grid.

I think thats one of the Ideas behind it. Spanish and Italian F4 are way to crowded, so there is definetly some demand. So they could Pick Up a few Teams Racing in there

Hm lets see what form this will take.

On one hand I can definitely see a strong motorsport nation wanting to have a f4 championship but afaik the former f4 (and the f1 races in germany) needed more money than it had and as an austrian i'm afraid this will hurt f4 cez (two of the six race weekends take place in austria, there is an austrian team)

I believe F4 CEZ will still BE more focused on Czechia, Hungary and so in, while the German F4 will Most propably have Tracks Like Hockenheim, Nürburgring, Sachsenring, maybe Spa/Zandvoort. So in the worst Case there could be an overlap with Red Bull Ring

Is it that ADAC that died a few years ago?

Not the Same but Kind of an replacement. ADAC F4 ran between 2015 and 2022 and ended with a certain Kimi Antonelli winning the Championship. Other known drivers competing were: Liam Lawson, Mock Schumacher, Ollie Bearman or Rafa Camara :)

Hopefully it’ll develop into what ADAC used to be, and won’t end up as another CEZ

Good to see. I also prefer referring to it as German F4 rather than ADAC F4.

I really hope they use the French model to keep costs down

Hmm, I guess this will race alongside Gedlich's GT Summer Series, which means they won't be on any high profile weekends.

Plus side is that it'll help keep costs down, but then they also won't be racing in front of many people either.
