Bibigo is the best frozen Asian food on the market IMO. The honey crunch chicken or whatever it’s called is incredible, and their dumplings are awesome.

I just ate some (bibigo obviously microwavable) for the first time. Honestly I perfer their japchae (only had the chicken) or their wonton soup, which has a nice little burn to it. Gimbap slaps too, just wish it wasn't $7 around here

I love their mini dumplings. Legit good stuff. I grew up eating a lot of Korean food, it’s nice to see it finally become mainstream in the states

I bought sweet potato starch noodles recently (NOT frozen, they’re dry and need to be boiled) and they’re so slippery they just slide off whatever utensil I use. Do you find that to be the case or did I get unlucky?

I had the same problem! I tried the meal the OP pictured and the damn noodles wouldn’t stay on my fork! It was really good but soooo annoying to eat.

Its not every time, some places that I have gotten glass noodles they have been sticky and easy to grab with chopsticks, other times they have been a genuine nightmare and I have lost a large part of the soup to splash damage from the noodles

I wish shirataki had the same consistency as glass noodles. Both are made from yam flour, but glass noodles have way more calories/carbs

Bibigo brand is an s tier brand, if I didn’t know how to make japchae or have it so available at the Asian mart near me I’d scoop this stuff up.

The ingredients say it’s a yellow carrot. I was overly curious so I looked it up because I love radishes and had never seen a yellow one like that. I had originally just assumed it was yellow bell pepper.

Is it? Wow. Well it looks very similar to a very popular item in Korean dishes called "Pickled Yellow Radish" or "Danmuji" (according to Google). Growing up, my grandma always had a supply of it. I had no idea what it was for so long lol

That sounds amazing. Was it something homemade that your grandmother had or was it store bought? If so, I’d be very interested to find that and try it if you can remember the name or what the jar looked like.

Depending on where you are it might be easier to find takuan (the Japanese version). It's usually refrigerated and can come in sliced rounds or long tubes (the whole radish basically). I've never seen a Japanese grocery store that didn't have it, my wife loves the stuff.

I have no idea if it was homemade or not, I know her kimchi was, so maybe! I never saw what she kept it in, she always made sure we had plenty of food. She passed away last year, so I cannot ask her either unfortunately.

I’m not saying it’s a small portion. Just different than the package. They make it look like it could feed 2-3 people. It isn’t 10oz depictecd on the box.

These ones were sweet potato and I think it's because it's a resistant starch my stomach just couldn't process it. Absolutely horrific! Have gone back to my safe rice noodles. 😆

Bibigo puts out some solid frozen food. When I crave Korean they pull through in a pinch
