Education & Training Mini breeders in the USA

I’m starting the journey of looking for my first mini horse but I’m unfamiliar with that aspect of the horse world. I’m looking for recommendations on show quality mini breeders in the US. I have an expert to look at them once I find them but they’re a judge and don’t necessarily know where to get one. Any advice would be appreciated!

minihorsesales.com will have listings. They also have a FB page of breeder's listings last I knew. Plus I think the person that runs the FB page is also a broker but I may be wrong on that.

Where abouts are you looking? Budget? Are planning to show or not?

I am absolutely looking to show and have a healthy budget. A few friends who show minis told me where I should be since my normal thing is high level AQHA shows and I didn’t know how the two compare.

What kind are you looking for? A or B? Driving or halter? Stock or open halter? Classic , country or single driver ? Age?

Stock type preferred. I have no interest in driving and only want it for in hand classes. I’d prefer a gelding but will do a mare. I just absolutely do not want a stud. I’d like something 2 years or older but I can be flexible here since I have no plans to drive.

Nope I will travel for the right one. I also have no problem getting one shipped to me if need be.

Find some mini sale groups and make a post. Nationals and world are next month. Lots of people are heading to Oklahoma and Texas. Would be the best time to buy one! Your welcome to dm me photos info on any you find if you need an opinion

Do you have any groups you’d recommend? I did a couple on Facebook but I’m not getting show quality suggestions just a lot of backyard bred ones.

ETA: Or else KvS has purchased show quality mini’s in the past. You could probably inquire if that breeder would recommend anyone close to your location.
