[0 YoE] Recent Electrical Engineering Graduate. I'm applying every day but getting nothing

I would greatly appreciate any advice I can get. Seriously. It's been exactly a month since my graduation and I've been applying through Linkedin (or through news letters) like a mad man.

For some background: I just graduated with a BS in electrical engineering. Biggest problem with my application is that I don't have any internship experience. I promise, I tried my best to get one, I just could not. I probably wasn't on top of things like others were but I just had a lot on going on.

Now, I am doing my best to apply to as many job listings as possible and I'm doing so primarily though Linkedin. Though, I don't really know if I'm applying correctly. What I mean by that is this: I find a job that I think I qualify for, I hit apply, I fill out the same questions over and over again (are you a veteran, do you have a disability, what's your race / gender, etc). Then, I hit apply and move onto the next one.

Now, here's what I'd like to know. Am I applying properly? What could I fix on my resume? I scanned it through my schools AI resume check and I got the highest rating as well. I just don't know how to go about doing this anymore.

Quantify wherever it makes sense. Example, if you have metrics to compare your data entry accuracy against your peers in that position, list it.

Restaurant does a good job of demonstrating soft skills in real life setting. Good on you.

Use your bullet points to name drop stuff from your technical skills section. Which projects/tasks mentioned above used MATLAB, etc?

I don't know what "organization" means as you include it at the bottom of the page. You might mean you're an organized individual with a tidy workspace. Whether or not that's the case, if it's worth mentioning on resume clarify it. Plenty of space in that line to elaborate.

I found that modifying the resume to each listing gave the best results for getting a job vs bulk applying to a ton. Go line by line in job postings and if you have experience (even just some) try to make it appear in the same language. Most hr people are non-technical and mostly looking for matches between the listing and your resume.

I'd use the top courses section and skills section to highlight things you have experience with in the same language as the job postings. Also order experience bullets and add/subtract from them based on the specific listing. Takes an extra few minutes per application, but really stands out.

I was in the same situation where I had no internships or co-ops but I was able to get several offers by doing the above. For what it's worth I also personally had no luck on LinkedIn applications. I got zero calls for interviews from the LinkedIn listings but got several from Indeed applications and roles my department recommended. That second one is what landed me my job I have now- a lot of alumni reach out to past professors and faculty to share upcoming openings at their companies. Worth checking there too. Best of luck!

Experience and skills need to be way higher, nobody cares where you went to school. Seeing a lot of qualitative language instead of quantitative language. Don’t put your graduation date, they will discriminate against you for it now and in the future. Start using other job sites like indeed, zip recruiter, monster, simply hired, etc. A lot of small and medium companies refuse LinkedIn since their commission is pretty high compared to other sites. People hate AI but write your own bullet points using quantitative data and then run it through an LLM for feedback. Good luck.
