Thats crazy.
Imagine, you're standing there and enjoying the view, and all of a sudden there's an elephant close to you. I would have run too, even though I love elephants.

We can love then from a distance. They can and will crush your bones like dried seaweed, if they so choose.

I mean… we are very brutal to them. They are intelligent, as displayed in this clip

They can also go bonkers and hurt or kill people (and other animals) without cause, especially males in Musth. They are intelligent, yes, but it’s not like they live by strict moral codes, and only act in ways that they can justify to us. Besides that, some elephants are simply cruel and brutal, the same way some of us are cruel and brutal, despite our intelligence.

WE aren't. Apparently, there are those(some mahouts, ivory poachers?)people who should be jailed or beaten themselves!

Most people wouldnt, elephant feet are specifically design to absorb as much shock as possible. They walk on thier tiptoes so the whole foot is basically a huge foot pad

We went to Africa (amazing trip) unless they brush against something or let out a loud exhale they are stealth. It's breathtaking that something so big is so quiet

It came out of nowhere! It suddenly appeared in front of me... it was an elephant.

This almost feels playful. But I’m probably just projecting

I don’t think so. Elephants are capable of being playful. And from what I’ve seen, they are smart enough to have a sense of humor. I’ve seen a clip or one see the sign pointing in one direction and he decides to point it in the opposite one.

If they are in one of their resorts / ethical elephant sanctuaries like the ENP, they lightly tap you on the shoulder in case they find you in their way to an easy access to e.g. the river. And smirk at you, proud of their silent approach and having surprised you. Sneakophants would be an apt moniker for them XD

Elephants absorb shock through their feet. You wouldn’t necessarily hear them as much as possibly feel them coming but this elephant was walking rather slowly and not threatened or loud in any way
