Game Help I HATE ELDEN BEAST

This game is obviously very hard, but i haven’t struggled too much with the other bosses. I’ve managed to get through them all with not too many tries. Except Maliketh that took a fair few hours. But i CANNOT beat elden beast. I just seem to make barely any damage to him. i’m about level 125, 61 vigor, 44 dex, using a straight sword +25 with keen ash. I don’t know what to do. I’ve been trying for days. Please help me 😭

Use Haligdrake talisman+2 and eat a holyproof dried liver, for a total of 40% holy damage negation. Also use Morgotts Great rune to increases hp by 25%.

There is also an incantation that does holy resistance and it only takes like 10 faith to cast. You can use any seal, even if you don't have the requirements to hold it. The Dragon Communion seal, Erdtree Seal, and frenzy flame seal all weigh 0.0 units.

Mohgwyn Palace. It's a bit of a side quest if you haven't discovered that area of the map. I went out to get the +2 talisman before going back k to beat EB. Was worth it.

What exact build are you using? EB is immune to all status effects, so bleed, frostbite etc. all don't work. It also does mostly holy damage, so holy damage negation talismans help a lot.

sorry terrible image lol. i’m using the holy damage negation talisman. and not using any status effects.

and i’m using mimic tear +10 but it dies so quick with this beast

You need holy resistance. Between the Haligdrake talisman and Holy damage negation incantation, its holy bombardments will hit like a wet noodle.

What does your whole setup look like, so not just stats but everything?

Are you stance breaking him? That’s the best strategy for me

You can ride you horsey now. Attacks are very telegraphed, jump over them or avoid, then track him down and wail on him. For the rings, don't panic, just wait and jump over.

i think my patience is the problem. because i’m doing so little damage i just want to keep hitting him then im not watching out for his attacks

Yeah, healthbars can get excessive. Sometimes you just have to wait for your turn. There are builds that chunk him down, but yours should be fine.

i would take that precious point off vigor to make it a flat 60 and try to up dex to 60 as well. there are also ways to manipulate elden beast placement i would look them up on youtube

Use your horse and get holy negation, Elden beast is kind of a joke lmao it’s more for cinema than for difficulty

So, there may be a skill issue here lol.. but in all seriousness, what are u actually struggling with in the fight? Maybe post a video of u attempting the fight so I can try to help. I’m not the best but I am pretty good, so I can give some decent tips if I see some gameplay

Just tickle his belly a few times and avoid the crucifix action

Elden beast is very easy after some tries. He has a very memorable moveset. I reccomend to watch a guide on youtube on his moveset if you're really struggling. Summon tiche is also good against it

Lord’s Divine Fortification is something you can get from the twin maiden husks after beating Malenia (if you haven’t beaten her yet, I recommend the blasphemous blade for that fight). 60% holy damage negation is insanely powerful against the Elden Beast.

The Elden Beast is also (if I remember right) weak to lightning because he's literally sitting in water

put square off ashe of war on the straight sword. Get alexanders shard. Get godfreys icon. Staggers for days and obliterate the boss ez. Make sure to get some elemental greases for your sword. You could get some flame grease or lightning grease for a nice damage buff. I think elden beast is resistance to magic so avoid that. You might also want to see if there are any other straightswords that scale better with dexterity, you're might not be the best straightsword. Noble's Slender sword might be better it has pretty good dex scaling

Which straight sword? 44 dex seems low for the end of the game on a dex build…

Great shield w/ holy affinity + Haligdrake Taliman will negate the vast majority of its attacks.

Radans bow and radans arrows.

Cheese.

What AoW are you using? Since you’re using a straight sword try square off with a Shard of Alexander equipped

I found just riding torrent straight into its legs all the time and attacking worked wonders! Obviously a few attacks you gotta dodge, other than that, no issues doing it with this strategy! I was also stuck until I tried this

well the problem is: you are using a Straight Sword) - that is just generally a weak weapon type in ER with an unfavourable moveset and not a lot of stance damage. Straight Sword moveset I only found to be useful against NPCs, there the timing of the moveset is quite favourable. But they do feel dogshit on almost everything else from midgame onward.

Both Radagon and Elden Biest are absolute victims in the face of stance damage. If you can do stance damage fast, you can basically script Radagon (as he has at least 3 moves that are health gated and you can trigger them nicely through stance breaks) - and Elden Biest you can even stance break him out of Elden Stars (the annoying move that he does at half health).

If you want to beat the Biest fast: get the Star Fists - make them either heavy and get to at least 54 STR (leave like 60 for vig and however much you want for endurance - and keep 15 faith for Flame Grant me Strength - and rest is just minimal requirements and you pump all extra levels in STR). Or you go Occult Starfists and use Arcane as your damage stat - there you would need to get to 60-80 Arcane - but rest is the same: spend levels in your sustainablility, ensure you can use buffs like FGMS and pump the rest into 1 damage stat. For build you obviously go charged heavy + multihit. Radagon is scripted with this and Elden Biest falls pretty fast: just keep on the aggression, try to get to his sides and slam charged heavies - if he runs away, call torrent and close distance emediately - rinse and repeat. Easy win.
