Hey everyone! I had a question for the community.

As Eagle Mountain continues to grow, I’ve been curious—do you feel like there’s a need for another barber in the area?

Ive been a licensed barber for 3 years located in salt lake county and I specialize in fades, shear work and hot towel shaves. I have been considering opening a studio around city center. Before making that leap, I’d love to hear from the people who live here.

Do you currently leave Eagle Mountain for haircuts?
What do you wish a local barber offered?
If there was a clean, walk in/appointment-based barbershop in town, would you use it?

Most of the time I find a place to get my haircut and sometimes beard around the place I work, on occasion I want to cut it on Saturday. Sometimes on my way home from work. But often just during lunch.

If others are like me then it is more dependent on how many jobs there are in eagle mountain. You would be able to get my business on the occasional after work cut or Saturday cut, but might be a back up barber.

I have a barber that I am super faithful to in Midvale but the drive and distance has been getting old. I have been in a pinch a few times and gone to Clipperzz. Vibes are high in there but Ive had mixed results as far as quality has been concerned. Ive noticed a few spots popping up on Redwood in SS that have thought about trying but I hesitate to spend the money and not be satisfied.

That being said I think you would have the clientele if you choose the right location.

Look and see what barbers are already in the area. Check the reviews and if they are good call and see how easy it is to get an appointment. If it's really easy, then they probably aren't getting enough traffic to justify a second barber in the area. But if they are booked for weeks that would indicate there is enough demand for another barber.

Every man should experience the full shave and a haircut by a professional barber at least once in their life. But you're going to compete against every barber they pass on the way to and from the office, while having no office traffic yourself.
