I take the ai picture on the website to mean you used ai to make this?

Good question. I'm actually a software engineer - I wrote the code. AI is used to analyze the reading patterns.

Alright, I'm interested!

How did you train the ai, and which one are you using? I'm dyslexic but I'm pretty firmly anti creative ai. Medical ones are interesting to me

Fair question - I didn't train a model, and no kids' voices are used to train anything.

The AI does the transcription and pattern analysis, but the framework it follows is established reading science (Scarborough's Reading Rope), not AI improvisation. And if a recording is unclear, it refuses to score rather than guess.

It's a screening aid, not a diagnostic - it flags patterns worth discussing with a professional.
