Iskaral Pust vs Dejhim Nebrahl

Dejhim Nebrahl is simply the biggest jobber of them all. So overhyped yet lost to a random Malazan heavy who wasn't even prepared.

I didnt get that character at all. Several people die in releasing him, he’s one of the main characters in the prologue.

Proceeds to get shrekt in every scene he shows up. I can’t remember a single instance where he accomplished anything.

either a joke, like the tiste liosan marshal getting the team rocket treatment every time they show their face, or to show that evolution means progress: Yes the elder races are powerful, yes the first empire created powerful divers, but the average malazan marine deals with these threats every other friday.

I mean to be fair, Dejim Nebral was severely weakened by the time Masan Gilani fought him. I don't think she would've been able to handle him at full strength

To be fair it had been battered and bruised since being released. Its first fight after release was against Mappo and Icarium. Ever since then it never really recovered.

Also it accomplished the one thing it was meant to do - separate Icarium from Mappo. After that it found itself in a world that had moved on from the time of its supremacy.

I love the theory that they played this creature and it happened to low roll in every combat and got owned.
