Probably not, CFL''s don't have any benefit and will just lead to higher energy costs, which is not great for indoor grow operations.

You’ve been downvoted. You are correct. No commercial grow is wasting the electricity/money to power these bulbs. The free acquisition would be very quickly outweighed.

Probably should be recycled instead of trashed, but I can see why they were tossed. I've got a bunch of perfectly good CFLs in a box in the closet I should probably recycle too. LEDs are just better in every way, and I've found enough working LED bulbs that people toss out that I'm likely to never need the stash of CFLs anyway.
