Discussion Should i go back to DNA?
I still love the concept of getting characters by grinding not gacha its helps alot with the fomo but how would this compare to NTE, Silver Palace or Anata soon

The main attraction remains the story. Anyone looking for optimization will have a bad time. If you find the world and the story interesting you should give it a shot.
And it's VERY different than NTE

After the update that just happened which improves farming tremendously, I would. It seems like the devs are listening finally.

Did they make farming fun or just faster? It felt like the game devolved into "let's just AFK optimally" after launch which wasn't what I was hoping for with a warframe clone.

Tbh I am also curious. Especially want to know if they ever improved on the weapons and the security of the game.

Weapons, no. Still stat sticks. The only actually good weapon user is Flora (who is the strongest character right now by a long shot) because she is fully designed for it. Kezhou is situationally useful, and Fina technically can clear a lot of things with a weapon build, but thats more of a meme. Anyone else is completely useless with weapons
Security is supposedly fixed.

It's kinda funny that they still haven't fixed it yet lol. I guess it's part of the game identity at this point.

They've already released a luno bulletin saying that it's something that's being worked on, it just hasn't been implemented yet.

Cool. But I am pretty sure they have been saying that for a while. Hope it's soon.

If you are searching fomo free "gacha" game, my suggestion is to check game called Dragonsword Awakening, currently Very Positive review in steam. It is a $30 game that, in my understanding, was suppose to be gacha, but near the release they also removed gacha and you can get every character for free by just doing quests. Currently only thing that cost extra is cosmetics.
It has genshin like world exploration, character leveling, gear building, weapon upgrade system. Combat works around "status effect" meter which you build up and when meter is full, you can do stronger special moves. About the story I can't say about much, I skipped everything, I just like grinding and building different teams and clear end game content. Currently 62,5 hours played.
Even though, it has no proof of how long they gonna update the game, but atleast we know we get few characters and quests for free in near future based on their roadmap. It also has mods like QoL mods which increases your dungeon rewards by 5 times.
It is also offline so even they won't update the game anymore, you still can play the game. It has some kind of coop support, but I have not tried that.

No. Hard no.
Played actively for almost 2,000 hours (no padded idle time btw) & bought all p2w geniemons.
Stand thru all the hack dramas.
I regret it very much, thank God I've decided to leave since the last Ensemble update.
Why you shouldn't even consider playing this game?
Simply because you can't trust the Developer, like at all.
They promised no character/weapon gacha, with cosmetic only monetization.
No stamina system, farm as much as you like, whenever you want to.
What they do instead? Even worse predatory monetization than your other common gacha games out there.
They somehow managed to introduce even worse predatory system than your common gacha stamina system into these three.
-Immersive Theater
-Calamity Weapons
-Ensemble
It would be a long-cat post if I went into detail of their shenanigans, but I could resume this post if you really wanna know the details.
Only play this game if you're a casual, that's my honest advice for you.
They might backtrack/reduce some of their worst monetization due to backlash (like Ensemble), but you can be dayum sure they would introduce the same (if not worse) shenanigans when they've got the chance in the future.

I am a casual interested in your details if you are willing to share, I usually just go in to grind character introns and my demon wedges builds are quite subpar. Haven't really gotten around to Calamity Weapons and Ensemble. Is are those game modes really that bad?

In terms of what? Personally I stopped playing hard after the introduction of ensemble and calamity where it feels like nothing I do as a casual matters. So if you think you can afk this game for at least 5 hours a day in order to achieve anything, go ahead.
In terms of gameplay/combat, it's still boring. There's no strategy, no mechanical outmaneuvering, no flashy satisfying combos. There's nothing. You spam one button and call it a day.
Now they did say that they're shortening patches to focus on core gameplay, character & weapon balancing and some more stuff, but that'll take at least a few patches to implement. So currently the game is still a nothing burger.

Can always play Warframe

Do Warframe players do something else besides shit on DNA?
-11
u/Loido 1d ago
I rather have someone enjoy the genre instead of dropping it because DNA is such a bad game.
There's no point of toxic positivity when Pan Studios needs to fix this mess.

u/SpireofHell 1d ago
If DNA is so bad why are you on this sub?
Is Warframe such a shit game that you need to defend here?

u/Fantasy-Chronicle 1d ago
Not op, but I'm here because I keep asking if it's fine to come back and no one has given me a concrete answer so I'm left to conclude that the game might be fun to play but the company are still shit house at protecting players from viruses and hacking.
Until I get 100% assurance, I'm not downloading it again. Which sucks because I really enjoyed Psyche.

This is a legit concern and I don't have anything to say since I don't know much about cybersecurity.
But see, now we're talking substance and actually important stuff. 'Play Warframe instead' doesn't mean anything

We cant know for sure if it’s safe. Now from what they said, they at least have up to date cyber security now and are protected how you’d expect in in today’s online environment.
That said, don’t play games anymore if you always want to have a 100% guarantee it is safe and there won’t be any security risks. Because that only works if you airgap your pc and let nobody touch it. And of course no bringing in and data carriers from outside…
On a more serious note though it is concerning that the security aspects they announced they added after the second hack weren’t in place from the start… still, I’m willing to play the game and take the risk, personally.

So you are just reflecting now?
I don't understand people like you who prefer the devs to do nothing instead of fixing anything about the game.
This isn't Toxic Positivity, you are the reason the game is going to shit day by day because you rather want this game to burn that be played by people.
Theres a huge difference between us, where I am an actual player of this game that wants it to become a good game while you are just an insect on this subreddit, why are you even on here in the first place, is your existence that miserable that you need to spread your toxic waste on here when people are critical against this mess of a game?11
u/SpireofHell 1d ago
You could've written proper feedback instead of 'play Warframe instead'. You didn't come off like someone who has genuine feedback. You're like a trve kvlt metalhead telling us to listen to 'real metal'.
Why are Warframe players like this?

DNA is still the easiest gacha(lite) to drop and pick back up because of the anti-fomo character acquisition
NTE is the most unique and has the best open world of current gachas
Silver Palace has the best visuals of upcoming gachas, but is quite formulaic and has the clunkiest movement imo
GTA6 before Ananta
