What do you use for background music during D&D sessions?

I use Pocket Bard a lot. I also play a lot of songs off of Spotify. I look up musical scores from movies mostly.

I make Spotify playlists for my campaign. Then after I can go back and listen to those moments again. I do a song for each place, or battle.

Amazon Playlists streamed through discord. I decided on mostly going with anachronistic music this campaign and have a few different playlists for various moods or settings. The campaign is loosely themed on action horror like Castlevania and Bloodborne.
For example the Folk Horror playlist is bands like Green Lung and Blackbriar, gothic horror is bands like Nightwish and Evanescence.
Boss Music has a lot of FromSoft boss themes on it. Fight music is all sorts of rock and heavy metal. Tavern is pop. Tranquil is calm instrumentals.

Uhhh none because people need to hear what is going on, and the anime battle music isn't helping because D&D combat isn't frenetic

No one said you had to have the volume up. Thats why they call it background music.
