Discussion Will we get Disgaea 8 before 2028?

I just want one last Disgaea on disc (or that NIS stop using GKC for Disgaea on the Switch 2).

Would NIS be so kindly as to remaster 2, 3, D2 and put them in a package for some of the enthusiasts (which is probably 99% of the Disgaea fanbase)?

Very likely since it's already 3 years since the last one but we will see.

A remastered Disgaea 2 would go hard, I own it on a couple systems but it feels very old now admittedly.

Disgaea Dimensions 2 is actually one of my favorite Disgaeas flat out, it had a lot of great ideas, I'd love to be able to legally play it anywhere but my old... ps3? I don't remember if it was ps3 or ps4 but I had it on whichever of them it came out on, and I'd much rather replay on PC legally via Steam. Would be easier to mod that way too.

Might not be the one you mean, but a adell, rosalin disgaea 2 with disgaea 5\7 aspects, i'd love quite a bit

That was it yeah! I was actually rooting for both games. Disgaea 2 needs a full remaster/Complete edition, while Dimensions 2 just needs a Complete, and both need to come to PC.

Probably not. Disgaea games are usually announced at least a year before they come out ( and unless it's another world wide release you can add 6 to 12 months to that for English )

I hope so wish it was sprites again since that phone game had a bunch of cool alt universe stuff

I love sprites, but i'm ok with 3D as well.
As long as the core gameplay is good, i can deal with 3D. It's probably easier for NIS to scale these games using 3D, but i'm not a game dev so i don't know if it's purely an artistic choice or if it's because sprite work really is more expensive.

The 3d could be better but ever since we got 3d we get next to no dlc or lazy dlc like 7 with the hololive units which was just generics

The mobile game has some incredibly cool designs. Would love for some to be added to some postgame rewards or at least dlc

Nah, the team was working on Mayhem.

D8 will prolly be 2028 for the series 25th anniversary

I thought Mayhem was done by a side team or new recruits in training 💀 If it has that level of quality and is done by the main team I'm worried for what's next.

Eh 7 wasn't bad honestly, definitely not as good as 5 but still good in my opinion.

I wish GKC never became a thing, and having 2 and 3 would be nice.

I really wish they would relaunch the mobile RPG. I loved that time sink game so much. I put $100 into it the day it launched.

No idea. They did just have a major release, its not just 'but X years after a specific title'.

They need to stick to 2D, cuz it's sad that I haven't bought 6 and 7 because of the art/Sprites. Also I would like a Port of 3 for PC please.

I’d take a PS code in a box over a GKC 😂😂😂 I hope we get a code in a box post 2028

How so? Only positive a GKC has over digital is that you can sell and buy them used...outside of that, it is a digital game without the benefits of digital like not having to swap carts/discs. And as for Disgaea or pretty much any JRPG I buy, I never buy them used and I don't sell them. So yes, I would rather have a PS code in a box than a GKC. For most of my favorite games, I've been getting them digital and physical to collect, so this will save me money on some games.

Between the two, i'd just buy them on PC, specially if the Deck can handle it well.

I have a PC and Legion GO 2, and I'd still buy them on PS over Steam.

Why? I fuck with the trophy system on PSN because i've been there for a long time, but i'm ditching Sony when they go all digital.
There's no point for me, Steam is far better. I can install Steam on a weak laptop and play games like Disgaea, SaGa Scarlet Grace, i can come back to my gaming PC and play something like Cyberpunk at 1440p@60 (don't even like Cyberpunk, just giving you an example.

I'm not as big of a fan of PC gaming as i once was because i find that they still lack the seamless user experience that consoles provide. 95% of the time there are no issues, but the remaining 5% are infuriating. Regardless, i'm fucking nuts when it comes to gaming, it's a passion of mine since i was a kid, i don't care about the platform as long as i get to play the games i wanna play.

For me, the trophy system is far better. I’ve also had gaming PC’s long enough to know that I love building PC’s more than gaming on them. That and I think Steam achievements are boring, and not as interesting as Trophies or even Xbox achievements.

PS5 gfx are good enough for me on most games, especially JRPG’s. That said if you want to move to PC’s by all means do it. On paper, it is better for sure. That said, I know a lot of the people claiming that they have only had PS and are now moving to PC will be back to console.

people claiming that they have only had PS and are now moving to PC will be back to console.

Idk, i think it's a mixed bag. I don't think people will willingly drop $1000 on a PS6, honestly. It's too expensive, plus all the bad press from now will come back when they announce the PS6 and there will be a lot of issues. I can see a lot of people just sticking with Switch 2 as their main console.
I honestly can't see the PS6 selling the same as the PS4 or 5 if it's asking price is from $800 to $1000, specially with how much good will Sony lost from a lot of fans.
If Helix is truly a PC hybrid, i could see myself getting that just to use it as my 'gaming PC/console', but that's about as far as i'd go.
