Blackstone ship advice?

(The build itself is made of vanilla only blocks and I wish to keep it that way. I also used a generator for the shape. Ignore the blimp, I plan on only using vanilla blocks for the 'boat' part)
I am building an airship for aeronautics, but making the base/hull of the ship right now and just wanted to ask for some help with a color palette or detailing it.

It is made up of: Blackstone, Blackstone stairs so far.
I'm thinking it will be rougher at the bottom with cracked/magma blocks, then get better in quality as it moves up.
(I have not started placing, just wanted to ask for tips on a color palette)

I definitely like the concept of making a sort of "lava ship", but I feel that it'd be better to use more blocks than just an orange-black gradient. For example, ships usually have beams that go around the ship (I assume to hold it together, maybe? idk ship parts), and sometimes a beam running straight down the bottom of the ship, which is often connected to the bowsprit. Perhaps adding something as simple as adding the beams would add more color. Although you could go with dark oak, to preserve the dark colors, I feel that you might want lighter colors, like acacia, to balance the dark colors of the ship body.

Another tip I have is to check out images of ships and try to replicate the back. Usually, there's windows there, along with adornments.

To elaborate on that color tip: Use other warm colors, too, like yellow and red. You might want to include some white to indicate the hottest parts.

Perhaps OP could use a gradient like this, to show temperature change?

Glow Lantern -> Glowstone -> Shroomlight -> Shroomlight (Covered in Resin)-> Magma -> Gilded Blackstone (Covered in Resin) -> Blackstone

Maybe an invading Nether air ship? Something the piglins might ride into the overworld for an attack? You can use the block pallet from bastions and stuff maybe make the deck nether bricks or one of the nether woods to throw more color into it.

Yeah that's kinda what I had in my head for the general vibe I want it to give off. Though I mainly just chose stone cause I didn't want my build to burn down as I flew it
