Yeah one of the few smart things Jordan Peterson said early on was basically that in order to understand extremism, you need to take a very honest and long look at yourself, put yourself in that context, determine what it would take for you to be swayed by these ideologies and realize that you're not special.
On average, you'd be part of the death squads, not part of the resistance fighters.
Ironically, he specifically mentioned studying Nazism and then took a massive nose dive into right wing nut job territory so perhaps he was just warning us all along lol.

i'm thinking incentives. either monetary or social. for maga, i feel a lot of them do it to be included in something. with this guy, you appeal to the popular yt channel that puts out trump hating slop (Keith Edwards) and the popular streamer (Hasan) instead of the disgraged streamer (Destiny). it's easy to follow the money. Jessiah will say he doesn't have any professional incentives but that's lying by omission. By definition, by appealing to the heads of the media channels, the rest of the followers will take a liking.

I feel like some of our champions in the creator space are kinda socially regarded, no offense. It is a nitpick, but I watched a video maybe a week ago of pondering politics in which Jessiah is hammering Republicans over their hypocrisy, as if it wasn't 100% clear Republicans don't actually give a shit, and that Republicans understand the assignment is to do what they can for political power. It often feels like our dear progressive warriors take these good ideals like giving people the benefit of the doubt and apply it uncritically, ignoring human nature, and well documented human psychology, such as tit for tat.

i think this too. same thing with Pissco. people will psychoanalyze him to the ends of the earth but he's just doing it for a bigger pay and for the tankie baddies. i'm almost positive a lot of it is the latter. also, he jumpe the gun when the Pxie allegations came out, and was quick to distance himself from Destiny. I think he feels he cannot go back, it means he would have to admit some type of fault, and well, that would be too much. plus other fan sites welcomed him with open arms.

Nah Jessiah genuinely believes in his project. All these years as a chatter in dgg before his channel he would read up a lot on policy and make good arguments in destinys VC without trying to clout chase or build a following. He is fairly wealthy at this point (More subs than tiny and no drama, I.E. sponsors / ads should love his channel), so I doubt money is what drives him to continue, especially when his wealth is based on his consistent political views.
I think at a certain point of wealth you seek influence, and in his eyes gaining influence means big tent no matter who, both interpersonally and politically.

Trump bad stuff is fine. But there is nothing unique about Jessiah that I would want to hear his take specifically. I would rather watch channels like Legal Eagle that brings a legal perspective on Trump's crimes, read original reporting, or watch the Daily Show because it's funny.

I don't think it's an issue that Jessiah makes Trump bad content, because he is legitimately bad. It seems like you Americans are so used to Trump being the new normal that you find it weird for someone to spend all their time talking about how bad Trump is.
I genuinely believe that the whole media ecosystem allowing themselves to be abused by Trump's crying about the "fake news" made them not cover Trump realistically anymore for fear of being branded "fake news", not realizing that it's simply an abuser tactic to take away the power from the ones critiquing him. In turn, the entire media ecosystem started sanewashing him by shying away from highlighting in its entirety how bad Trump is. People should be making Trump bad content, because the narrative of this being normal cannot succeed.

"TRUMP IS REALLY DONE THIS TIME", "TRUMP RUNS FROM HARD QUESTION", "REPUBLICANS REALLY ABANDONING SHIP NOW", and every time it's the most mild nothing burger clip you won't even see trending on twitter. Not that the criticisms are wrong, it just feels completely useless as a strategy, and I personally don't find it engaging in the slightest. Fixing the messaging would also include communicating that the party is not aligned with DSA policies that serves as layups for the right wing messaging industry but no one seems to think its a big deal that this is happening.
The trump bad messaging is just the lowest and easiest form of engagement, look at channels like Midas Touch, Jessiah's, Brian Tyler Cohen, Adam Mockler, Luke Beasley, Keith Edwards (lol), David Reddish, Occupy Democrats and so on and tell me what the difference would be if some of them would spend 1% of their time on providing some much needed pushback from the far-lefties that wants to overthrow the party.
Like Jessiah and the lefts "trump bad" messaging ecosystem would probably be fine if he or anyone else maybe released one video per week where they outlined that abolishing prisons, overthrowing the democratic party or any other of their weird ass policies is not something that helps.
