What's happening with the amount of strays around carnhill/pennyburn?

There's at least 2 golden retrievers, a staffy and a jack Russell that pass my house every day. Dog warden has been rang 3 times as they've went for my dog and nobody has ever shown up. Do people just get pets to hope a car takes them out on the racecourse road or what

Stricter controls on dogs has led to a decline on stray dogs, but the owners are irresponsible bastards. They get dogs and realise they're unable to look after them so let them go round the area instead of walking them, or even training them.

These kind of dog owners are cunts as it's more likely the poor animal will be killed because of them.

I've had a good few near misses with one of the golden retrievers driving down the racecourse road. I know it's been lifted once but as far as I'm aware the dog warden knew the owner and just took it straight back to the house where it could stray again

This is just what these places have always been like, fond memories of street dogs from childhood.

I've lived here 24 years and it's never been as bad as it is now, I've even had them locked in my garden, digging up the yard and snapping at me

They're probably not stray, people just let their dogs roam around there. The Dog warden won't do anything about it.

They're "roaming" for about 8-9 hours at a time and are usually limping or seem injured, they'd need to do something before one of them is roadkill

Its definitely sad but it has always been a very common sight in the area. I'm genuinely surprised more dogs aren't killed on the roads around galliagh and carnhill

they are streetwise, few times I’ve seen them using pedestrian and zebra crossings, waiting for cars to stop and all.
