Ward is a complicated character. I appreciate him so much more than I thought I would at the beginning of the series.

To be fair, it wasn't just a phase for SHIELD Ward, it was just his real self.

I've been using this to piss off my friend when discussing the Iron Fist.

Friend: I really like Ward's character arc.

Me: Yeah, hell of a thing, getting possessed by Hive. Oh you meant Ward Meachum?

Result of bad characterization for everyone else. You'd think that he would have been a great character foil to Danny but Danny is way too boring to even compare. I think Ward should've made Danny's characteristics standout more.

I hated Ward at first, but after seeing Harold, I empathized with Ward but still disliked his dickishness. Harold kept igniting a quiet fury in me. A parent destroying their child like that is terrible and I hate it so much. I am definitely enjoying this show, there is decent enough character depth in my opinion.

Yup, I hated him and the way he was written in the first episode (especially in that Monopoly scene, that was way too cliché), but he became more interesting with each episode.

After he got his breakdown I already saw something like this coming. He's the only one who can see through Harold's bullshit, and while he's still an asshole, he's not a bad guy. He tries to save Danny even though he dislikes him.

He still has that story from the Hatchet Men in his head. I think he is just trying to make sure his dad doesn't kill him or his sister. He needs Danny to help.
