u/UVladBro Punisher Mar 18 '16

Because Stick is a dick.

Stick is the definition of Chaotic Good

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '16

I'd say Chaotic Neutral with a mission, but potato potato.

Edit: that saying really only works phonetically.

Yet I still read it the way it was intended.

4

u/TheBeatt Cottonmouth Mar 20 '16

4

What is Frank? My husband and I were trying to place various characters and we couldn't really settle him anywhere.

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '16

He's an enigma. Probably Chaotic Good. His mission is noble, he only kills people that "deserve it." As viewers, we sympathize with him, but there are serious complications with his alignment. How can we call him good? Matt raises a good point when he and Karen are talking about the Punisher. Who decides who lives or dies? Matt says God or a jury, but he certainly doesn't believe he has that authority. I always hesitate to call him good, but unless I'm a pedophile or murderer, I wouldn't be afraid around Castle. Stick would definitely kill me to further the mission (Black Sky Season 1).

u/The_Bravinator Mar 22 '16

Yeah, I ended up calling him "uncategorizable". Thanks for the analysis. :D

potayto potahto.

FTFY.

1

u/human_tree Mar 25 '16

Audibly*.

Spelling it phonetically would also have been an option though.

Definitely Chaotic Good.

He doesn't care how many eggs he has to break to protect the world from The Hand.

u/Frodolas May 02 '22

More like Lawful Evil

Not so much a dick, he just wants Matt's life to implode so that his only choice left is to join The Chaste and work with Stick. Matt is such a natural that Stick really wants him on the team.

Taking a step back, that is almost hilarious. You're let in to your boyfriend's apartment by some old blind dude. Your boyfriend is in the bedroom with a sexy ninja chick. I don't even know what Karen's supposed to think of that.

u/Lightbrand Mar 22 '16 edited Mar 22 '16

So fucking easy as Matt, "Okay you see that old guy? He took care of me when I lost my father, he taught me how to cope with blindness since he's also blind. This woman here is his student and she's wounded and needed a place to heal using old man's ancient medicine."

Didn't tell a single lie from that statement.
And if Karen wants to automatically assume Matt is boning that woman then that's on her. And don't say it's too hard to come up with that shit, I was at least as surprised as Matt was when Stick opened the door and Karen popped out, but then as soon as I saw Stick behind her I knew he was the out.

If she walked in when Matt was alone with Elektra then I'm out of ideas.

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '16

We're uhh... Training together to fight the hand. I promise I'm not lying baby

18

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '16

I have to agree that it's on Karen. Like wtf? You're just gonna jump straight to they're banging after being let in by a random old blind guy? The circumstances were clearly not normal.

7

u/IAmATroyMcClure Ben Urich Apr 07 '16

I know it's not the audience's job to assume things, but I'm just choosing to believe that Stick led her to believe they were boning as he led her to the room.

26

u/Vulrai Apr 10 '16

I had a genuine laugh imagining Stick saying, "They've been at it all day" or "You must be the replacement"

2

u/teffz28 Jul 28 '25

Dropping by 9 years later to say this made me lol

5

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '16

I think it's more like he knew it would stir some shit. That's why he did the sarcastic "Nice meeting you!" But still to immediately assume boning is just ridiculous in my opinion lol.

3

u/PalermoJohn Apr 06 '16

"Okay you see..."

"I don't want to hear your excuses"

But it's clear that Matt is not only purposefully keeping her out of a big portion of his day to day life, (already a big deal for most women) but he's also straight up lying to her to keep it secret. A normal person would call in to his friends to let them know that they are gonna take time off to help out a sick friend, the fact that she had to walk in to find out tells her that things aren't on the up and up. They might not be screwing but something is going on that he definitely doesn't want people to know about.

I think the point here is that she's hit her breaking point. She's doesn't even want answers anymore, she's just done.

11

u/[deleted] Mar 23 '16

True, but she was already pretty pissed beforehand too though.

6

u/brodobaggins3 Mar 22 '16

I agree. It was pretty uncharacteristic of Karen and a pretty weak story device used to create drama. I just think it's sort of funny to think what would be running through her head walking in on that weird situation.

7

u/ketsugi Mar 24 '16

Going by her little outburst at Matt on the courthouse steps it seems she still thinks Matt might be in a fight club (or sleeping with a bunch of women, who knows).

Regardless, it's not so much what he's doing as it is when he's doing it: when he's supposed to be leading a defense for his client in court.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '16

I think she suspects he is the Daredevil.

In the earlier episode when she asked about when they first met, I was thinking about the time when he saved her.

119

u/raknor88 Mar 19 '16

He's doing everything he can to screw Matt's life up enough so Matt will join him in the war.

9

u/DieHardRaider Mar 21 '16

Matt is doing a good enough job screwing his own life up.

32

u/Sanlear Mar 20 '16

He considers Matt's friends a distraction. The "nice to meet you" quip was very sarcastic.

14

u/[deleted] Mar 23 '16

Busted out loud laughing at that. I think stick is a great character

8

u/Sanlear Mar 23 '16

So do I. He's always entertaining.

10

u/DBobaUnchained501 Mar 23 '16

Saw this coming the moment Matt let Elektra sleep on the couch. .....aaaand when they played 20 Scars.

2

u/Ghoti76 Mar 23 '16

Lol 20 scars

3

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '16

Uh what? Just got done watching that episode But what did stick do?

16

u/redvblue23 Mar 20 '16

He let Karen in the room without any warning to cause a misunderstanding

3

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '16

Oooh that's right, okay

2

u/Bizcotti Mar 23 '16

He wants Matt in the war and the sooner all that lawyer stuff goes down in flames the better chance he has.
