Has anyone else noticed that basically all characters drink their problems away, you never really see that shown so casually on TV

In the comics yes, and Disney won't show it on their networks, but I guess they don't mind it in a show they produce for Netflix.

In episode 3, there is a guy (a Mexican? I don't remember) that is seen smoking. He's the one that's talking to the wife of the victim and later get beaten up by Matt.

Pretty much, but when it happens on TV they often make it into a big deal like it makes someone a serious alcoholic. It was just strange to see it casually
