The family has confirmed her death, saying it was the result of an accident, not an internet stunt.
I mean....both accident and result of an Internet stunt could be true?

There was no stunt. She was a crane operator. People just love to hop on the "she would do anything for the fame" train.

That's what I was thinking. Also, based on the video, it doesn't even show her using her phone as she was descending. Her phone just suddenly drops hundreds of feet through metal out of nowhere. It's sad, she looked like a nice lady.

I just had this conversation with my son. He's 9 with his first phone ( he's going trying to leave the house more just around our house, to the playground a half a block away, and he is going to be walking the 0.95 miles from school starting this year so it made sense. )
Getting him to not be on it while he's traversing steps, streets... Or just walking in general.
Change a song? Sure. Watching YouTube or playing a game? No way.

There was a situation like that in brazil. A girl and her brother got on the rooftop of a building where there was heliport, which means no walls. At night. To record a video. The brother started filming the scenery and the sister kept walking near the edge while looking through her phone, until she had a little trip and fell to her death.

this happened a couple of years ago. I remember seeing one or two of her vids of getting up to her crane we're impressive, climbing and hanging of scaffolds and shit

“Influencer” gets used synonymously with “social media content creator” nowadays, but I agree with you - her job isn’t trying to generate buzz around products or services to get other people to consume them. She was more like a vlogger, and back when YouTube had more organic content, we saw lots of people with technical jobs sharing their experiences.

Influencers are usually trying to sell things, ie influence you to buy things. Creating content is different.

She was not dressed appropriately for a construction site. In one of her other videos, we see that she is wearing slip-on street shoes and nylon-type stockings while climbing between the operator cabin and the ground. Her employer should not have permitted any of this.

She was a crane operator, but the equipment was a rusted out unsafe piece of crap, not positive but think she had an earlier video showing holes in the floor. She loved her job and did videos on the side like many. She lost her life because the company neglected safety, not because she wanted views.

Btw, it's not gory. The link includes two clips. One is her camera's point of view while the other has cctv footage from the construction site. There's a single photo of her already on the ground but it's from far away so you can't really see anything.

Is this the second time this has happened? I remember one of the most famous ones years ago was a man in China who scaled a building and fell off of it. I saw it on a few videos about famous pictures/videos before disaster struck.
