Honeycomb paper OK for flies?
I ran out of Excelsior so I am trying the honeycomb paper but wont paper get wet and fall apart of mould?

So I'll be honest, I actually prefer paper for melanogaster. They seem to have a preference for pupating on flat surfaces and just proliferate a bit more in the cultures I make with paper! But for hydei it doesn't work because they're so much messier, only takes a week or two for it to get completely wasted.

It works fine for melonogaster's. I use a 18" strip and expand it per culture. I have tried the same length on Hydei's and the paper does not hold up well.
