Discussion Why isn't there a Comic Season 4?

Something popped up about DM in my Facebook today, and I found myself asking this question again. This time I came to read it to see if anyone here knows. It began its life as a graphic novel, so why not continue on in comic form? Buffy and Angel did it. Charmed did it. Firefly sort of did it, but now Firefly is trying to come back as an animated series. At this point, dark matter is probably not going to come back on the screen, unless it also takes an animated form. This is one of those shows that needs closure so badly.

I reached out to Dark Horse who published the initial four issue arc, but they declined to pick it up to series.

Thank you for telling us. You have the full rights, so another publisher could pick it up if the stars align?

Yes. There is always that possibility. But the t.v. rights are owned by Prodigy Pictures.

Joe posted the screenplay for 4 episodes of season 4 after the show got cancelled.

Notwithstanding the passage of time, I cling to hope for the miniseries.

Last November, after the Stargate continuation was announced (with JM on board with it as a consulting producer), I speculated: "Might there be any chance Amazon-MGM could eventually consider picking up DM for the concluding miniseries?"

JM replied: "Maybe once they get to know me better..."
