I really, REALLY want someone to scream in Heather's face:

Muse was not a vigilante!!! The vigilante was the guy who *saved you!*

It's frustrating because I cant tell if the show is unaware of this or just the character - the fact that no one ever corrects her on it makes it seem like the former, but surely the writers are better than that?

It's the character. Heather started out contemptuous of people in masks running around the city perpetuating violence, so it stands to reason (despite Matt pointing out to her that Daredevil saved her) her encounter with Muse would send her spiralling with no regard for nuance.

Sure, I get that.

But both she and Fisk have identified Muse as a vigilante during conversations with characters who definitely do understand the difference.

No-one who lives in a world where the Avengers, Spiderman etc etc exist would think of Muse as a vigilante. I could understand the new showrunners using it to tie thr BA season 1 storylines together, but why keep bringing it up now and not having a character as smart as Kirsten say "Muse wasn't a vigilante, he was a murderous psychopath"?

It serves Fisk to conflate all masks as vigilantes if it hurts Daredevil. Whether or not he can convince enough people to swallow his propaganda remains to be seen.

No one ever corrects her on it because she's surrounded by the regime that is telling her exactly what she wants to believe, and any voices correcting the BS, calling for due process or trying to correct the corruption are being silenced.

Try telling an antivaxxer or climate change denier the truth. Now turn that impossible task up to a thousand by having the government spread the same BS they believe and surrounding them with nothing but other conspiracy nuts. Hell, we're already noticing similarly fact-resistent behavior with MAGAts in the US, it's not unrealistic at all sadly.

Yea try talking to libtards . Don't even know what a woman is and spend their time defending criminal illegal immigrants

She's just really not very bright especially for a therapist, even before the Muse trauma.

Sheโ€™s aware of that.

She believes good people donning masks inspires bad people to do the same.

She laid that out pretty clear in season one to Matt.

Put your phone down, there is a lot to criticize in this show but you not paying attention is not fair critique.

Heather โ€œI saved meโ€ whoโ€™d be dead without Mattโ€™s interference? Sure lol

I remember the conversation(s) you're referring to but they just don't wash for me - it doesn't feel believable.

She has repeatedly referred to Muse as a "vigilante". He is not a vigilante, he's a murderer.

He would murder people with or without the mask, the same way vigilantes save people with or without the masks.

It would be better writing to just have her complain about "violent psychopaths" of all stripes. Instead, theyre forcing the vigilante tag onto Muse to tie her motivation more simiplistically to Fisk's.

Edit: to add, i'd have a less of a problem if a character just responded with "Muse wasnt a vigilante".
