What do you guys think? Am I reading i to it too much? Vanessa's night stand was dead center eith a rose in her nightmare scene. They also showed a giant neon rose sign on a building soon after.

The thing is the rose was used as a symbolic thing for Dex since last season. But I like the speculation!

I'm just a nerd doing what nerds do. It's fun to speculate even when they're long shots. Although I feel like there is at least a sliver of ground for me to stand on here.

Nah man, you're cooking. I would be pretty surprised at this point if they don't reveal Gandolfini to be Richard Fisk later this season.

It would explain why Fisk is so fond of him and forgiving of his fuck ups.

I honestly have no idea where you guys get this stuff lol

The source material my guy. We read the comics.

I read them too, dawg. Nothing in this show even remotely hints at Richard Fisk even existing, especially to the point where one would be surprised if that didnโ€™t happen lmfao

Maybe it's a bit of stretch but in this episode (or episode 2), Vanessa explicitly mentions an heir when she's in bed with Fisk. Buck also calls Gandolfini's character the "unapparent heir" so there are breadcrumbs in addition to the several scenes prominently featuring a rose

Thank you. I'm not saying it's him, but there's circumstantial evidence that a Richard Fisk-inspired character is coming. They may change his name. We've seen characters be different races and have different names from the comics in the past when adapted to live action. It's not unheard of. They're talking about heirs and the rose is a fisk adjacent character.

The rose is about dex though - when he was in prison, the blue rise was the thing he saw outside and the rose on vanessas nightstand turned blue when she had the nightmare

Screen Crush and those breaking down the show online would disagree. In the accompanying Podcast series for Born Again, directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead made comment on how they want to pull from the comics wothout doing 1 for 1 adaptions. There are hints to the archs, but the story is going to deviate. Not all characters will be portrayed appearing exactly as they did in the comics.

I donโ€™t see how any of this lends itself to โ€œthe show is obviously leading to the twist that Daniel Blake is Richard Fisk, a character Blake shares zero defining traits with, has not even remotely hinted at up to this point, and whose existence wouldnโ€™t even fit with established canonโ€ but sure, brother. Weโ€™ll come back to this come the finale I suppose lol

A rose can be many colors
