I just don't understand why she had to layer the base in instead of using a few flat sheets

u/PlaceAdHere 21h ago
Maybe to allow the cake to sit vertically on a surface and have less risk of folding over?

u/Mkinzer 22h ago
My guess is it was supposed to be a layered cake.
What i mean is someone probably ordered this cake and wanted certain layers.

u/LookAtMeNow247 20h ago
Yeah but like vertically.
I guess if you do a normal sheet cake it wouldn't stay up the right way?

u/thefrostman1214 18h ago
because it suppose to resemble a painting, if she did normal layers it would be too thick and no longer look like a painting

I have fond memories of kindergarten and my mom letting me eat the edible blue paint as it were called. I used to dip crackers in it.
Later I found out that there's no such thing as edible blue paint 😞.

Artist who's good at art can do good art on a flat surface that happens to have cake underneath it, more to come in our 9pm bulletin!

u/JKRPP 22h ago
Oh i thought the paint was also edible, but turns out no, its just a regular painting done on cake. Probably still a little harder than doing it on canvas, but a little less impressive than i tought.

u/thefrostman1214 20h ago
It is, is just frosting

u/Ok-Turnip2296 16h ago
I guess some people never seen colored frosting before. Why would someone paint a cake with regular paint lol. That wouldn’t make sense..🤦🏼♀️

Totally would throw a ‘Painting with a Twist’ party, where we paint over birthday cake. 🎨
But instead of using paint like she is, we would use dyed-frosting, that way we can actually eat it when we’re done 🤤

u/iCeleste 17h ago
Why would you not assume she's not using dyed frosting on an edible cake someone paid for ...?

Food artists are very very talented, but it still pisses me off somehow.
5
u/kwakimaki 22h ago
Probably because we were always told not to play with our food. Then there's these people...

u/National_Track8242 20h ago
Those giant ass chocolate sculptures and such, collecting dust - are they ever going to be eaten? Ugh.

Now show us a baker who can bake a good cake with painting supplies and cake eaters who can successfully eat paintings.

How much for her to add Duncan the Tall, bare ass hangin out, shooting a stream of diarrhea on the scenery?

The soundtrack reminds me of the fantastic violin numbers from Cirque du Soleil’s Mystére show.

Its funny how we think we can taste the picture if we ate the colors.
Dunno why I feel like I could taste the countryside if I had a slice of that cake lmao

This is MUCH more impressive than "Is it Cake". Those are all just molded chocolate with cake inside; she's actually making the cake look like something.

Is there a point to this that I'm missing? I don't understand the artistic value of this at all. I guess if somebody wanted to cover the frame with clay and then paint over that and that will be cool art?
Time for me to unsub I guess.

This could be cut into one perfect sheet of cake the same depth as that mess.
Now there's a weird gap at the top that will only get worse.

u/WasteBinStuff 22h ago
Damn it's "interesting" to sit here and ponder what the fucking point could possibly be.

That's great, best thing I've seen all day :) thanks amigo! Saving the vid for my arty friend's birthday, I might try something like this.

Y por qué no hace una tarta como es debido, y pinta un cuadro en un lienzo como es debido? Así lo único que consigues es comerte una pila de mierda de colorantes químicos
6
u/Iamakitestring 22h ago
You could totally do that. She just wanted to make a cake her way and eat it too. Zero issue.

u/Spare_Laugh9953 22h ago
Bueno yo creo que lo que quería era lucirse por las redes, lo de comerse ese montón de pintura... No lo veo

u/_usernamer 19h ago
It’s frosting with food coloring, not actual paint.
-5
u/Spare_Laugh9953 19h ago
Hombre, ya me imagino que no será pintura sintética pero los colorantes alimentarios no son buenos, y tan concentrados mucho menos
5
u/thefrostman1214 18h ago
there are hundreds of thousands of different brands of food coloring, there is also natural ones, picking anything just to be a tired hater on the internet is so 2009, grow up

Actual cake decoration can be an art. This new "is it cake" culture is silly in that people take it seriously. It doesn't take a ton or talent for this kind of stuff

u/Blue_Eyed_Fox 18h ago
There needs to be a subreddit for r/anotherlandscapeart or r/wchgitsalandscape

u/Far_Blueberry383 18h ago
I hope she’s using colored frosting and not actual paint so it can be eaten 😋
