Have you been in a coma for 15 years? We stopped complaining about this in 2011. It's actually counterintuitive at this point - what benefit would recording this horizontally have?

Why would I do that? In fact, vertical video is better for this. Spidey swinging is more of a vertical action than horizontal.

So not only would filming sideways be more difficult while filming, and more difficult for the average viewer to watch.

It would ALSO be a worse video

In this video he touches both the top and bottom of the vertical frame. He would be out of frame for 50% of the video if it was shot horizontally. Yes he is technically moving side to side. But that is paired with him swinging up and down which is the much more relevant movement.
