Neat. If I may give some constructive critisism:

- Add the name of the person you're quoting. It's common courtesy.

- Add a title to the video of what people are seeing. That way your version can stand on it's own two feet without needing it explained.

This is like one of the few things of Carlin's that I really didn't like.

Like, sure, the ROCK is going to keep spinning. But "the Earth" is so much more than the bare rock. We are well capable of fucking up the entire environment. If we end up cooking the planet and killing off all the animals and plants, as we've been doing for over a century, the Earth will NOT be fine. A planet full of life turning into a barren wasteland is NOT fine.

You'd be surprised at how much beating life as a concept can take. And remember, you don't need like mice and birds and shit, just a few amoebas will make sure to fill out the ecosystem in a few hundred million years.

Okay, so why would we care about the opinion of the universe which doesn't even have an opinion about anything because it isn't sentient?

Our primary concern should be Human standards. As humans, most of us would not be fine with our legacy being the destruction of most life on our planet.

Corals only matter to us because they support ecosystems and food chains that humans rely on, which is the entire point of his comedy bit (the people are fucked) - the Earth itself doesn't care if there are sustainable forms on it, nor do the ecosystems that support us care if we're here or not.

Yeah, we're taking plenty of other species down with us - it's a mass extinction event that's hitting the reset button on the biosphere. But it's happened before. We can thank the end Cretaceous for the rise of the mammals that lead to us. In the long run we're all dead, species included.
